This training centre has many good aspects to it. However, trying to conduct training in a room full of wasps is more than distraction, and something the management should have paid attention to. Also, the covered walkways between the training rooms and the accommodation blocks stop before main entrance leaving a gap where residents must run the gauntlet of the weather. The fact that the paving stones have sunk in places along the walkways causing widespread puddling doesn't help those with indoor shoes on their way to dinner when it rains. The signposting to the car park for those arriving in the dark could also be better. That's the negatives out of the way. On the positive side, the rooms are small, but comfortable and cleaned daily. The food is industrial catering when the centre is full - and can handle several hundred guests. The food is well cooked and presented with estimates of calories. I especially liked a curry soup and the range of main dishes that represented many different food styles and cultures. There are a mixture of tables to suit all sizes of groups using the centre. There are also lots of coffee points and more biscuits available than I have seen for a long while, but good coffee machines are slow to produce a cup of coffee and that can be frustrating is there are many delegates breaking from large plenary sessions at the same time all wanting a drink. Bar prices are reasonable and there is a 24 hour costa coffee point for that late night need. good for a couple of days, but not sure about how I would feel if staying longer. Staff were friendly..
