Yarnfield Park Training and Conference Centre

No signs of where the entrance is located for checking inn no guidance for late night arriving where to park If it’s raining then your done finding your way it’s like a maze finding your tower Middle of nowhere !!!!

Terrible, ended up with sickness after visit. So rooms are awful and beds are the worst I have ever slept in. Food bad and venue quite cold in parts. Terrible experience would never visit again , think it might be noro virus outbreak as a lot of delegates reporting d&v

Yarnfield Park absolutely did a job for me. The room was clean, the shower excellent, the bed comfortable. I was glad of a good night's sleep. I was on the second floor, some one before me had disabled the window lock so thankfully I was able to get lots of air in my room. Wonderful. An evening meal and breakfast were included with my room rate so that saved me trailing off campus looking for food. I booked last minute when Yarnfield were between conferences, I think there were half a dozen of us staying that night. It could be very different when the centre is busier or full. I wouldn't have wanted to pay more than my £69 half board. Very friendly staff.

This place seems to have had a few bad reviews recently, but I had a decent stay there in July 2024. The room had been refurbished and the bathroom was modern too. The bed was comfy. The place itself is a conference centre complex. There is an ok gym, free parking, and some greenery around you as you go to and from your room to the main building. There was no aircon in the room which wasn’t ideal as the weather was hot. The breakfast was of a good standard, but my one main gripe was with this. The conference aspect of the complex meant that around 300 delegates from one event turned up all at once for breakfast - which meant a massive queue. The answer was to get there very early for breakfast, but this did negate somewhat the idea of breakfast being served ‘between 7am and 9am’. Overall, though, fine given the mid-range price tag.

I would recommend to Never stay at this conference centre. Hands own, the food, if it could be called food, is some of the worst I have had the displeasure of being forced to eat. The beds are uncomfortable, and the hospitalities non-existent. First; arriving. When I first got to Yarnfield, I thought it was quite nice looking, the staff, polite and helpful. I got to my room, and it looked perfectly acceptable. Not the best, but better than a premier inn. But on use, the bed is so uncomfortable, I have yet to have a restful nights sleep. It constantly kept waking me up, feeling like I feel asleep in a classroom chair. The pillows are flat. The towels provided fall halfway down my thighs and are thin as tissue paper. The extractor makes a terrible racket, to the point that I try not to switch the light on. The walls are paper thin, you can easily hear the people in the others rooms taking a wizz. Secondly; the restaurant. They charge £20 for less than substandard food. It has become so bad, by the end of the week, looking at what was served to me made me almost physically ill, and has actually made my colleagues, who were forced to endure this treatment, physically ill, including multiple diarrhea incidents. Honestly, if the company we are in training with instead gave us the money instead of Yarnfield for food, we could better supply ourselves and more heathily, by eating out at the local fish n chips everyday, for every meal. I wish they had provided optional microwaveable meal we could take from a freezer and heated it ourselves, because then, the food would at least be hot. If you do decide to come, be warned. Thirdly; the other accommodations. There is no place to get tea, coffee or other refreshments other than an in house Costa, which doesn’t have even half the capabilities than the vending machines you find in petrol stations. They haven’t got Are you doing the ability to accept as a costa card, or allow you to use any rewards. The restaurant, where the said beverages could be found, is only open at very specific times, the rest, it is locked down. The seating in the lobby, is uncomfortable, to the point your bum goes numb. The only comfortable seating is found in the bar area, which is only open from 18:00 to 22:00. They could, quite easily, empty the bar but keep the area open for entertainment, with the free pool tables, comfortable seating and a tv. But they choose not to. Please save yourselves some money, and multiple trips to the loo. There are better places, where they will treat you with at least a modicum of respect. Again, you have been warned.

I stayed for one night, paid for by my company to attend a conference. The venue was very basic, could have easily been an open prison or young offenders institute. The conference rooms, reception and bar area are ok. The rooms are a step down from the Travelodge. The hallways are dated and dirty. The rooms are small and badly decorated. Dents and scuffs all over the place. The bed isn’t attached to the wall. The furniture looks like it’s come from a 1980s charity shop. The bathroom shower tiles granted were nice but the Lino flooring is grubby and sealant falling off. The extractor fan sounds like you have a hovercraft starting up. I would never stay at this venue again and believe me I’m not fussy. It let the whole event down. For a business deluxe room it was simply disgraceful. A view shared by a number of the delegates that attended. I can only hope that the property has been bought for renovation.

The main problem with the site is that they have not put the proper pictures showing the correct rooms and therefore there are rules in the hotel that do not look like the pictures that are being portrayed and therefore this is not being honest and because I was having vegetarian vegan foods it seemed like the chef did not know what to cook and second of all what he did do on the hall was not very good and the quality was a very good all the side dishes the salads and ready-made ghettos and things like that were great

Booked this hotel within an hour of arriving due to a nightmare 10 hour drive and closure on the M6. Rang ahead and spoke to the lovely Alison who’s reassuring voice and friendly manner restored my confidence that I wouldn’t have to sleep in my car. Yes it’s not the prettiest place, not much character to the accommodation but it is predominantly a conference centre and not so where you would perhaps go for a holiday. Bed was clean, room was warm, shower was hot and powerful. Only stayed for 8 hours but Alison knocked the price of breakfast off the cost which she didn’t have to do.
