Extended Stay America Suites - St Paul - Woodbury

I was in town for a weekend event and was hardly at my room while being there, but the experience there was exactly what was needed. Breakfast was good but somewhat minimal, but fresh coffee and breakfast is always a good thing. Prices are decent and rooms are perfect for a weekend getaway that still gives a "homey" feeling.

Extended Stay America Woodbury Review Imagine our profound disappointment upon entering our "suite" at your establishment only to find the kitchen had absolutely no amenities, the bed frames were covered in dirt and--yes--actual pumpkin seeds, and the "good" Wi-Fi was an extra charge. We had to request the amenities we wanted for the kitchen. We asked for all of them, as we were staying for two weeks, and at first were told to come back that evening. Nothing available till tomorrow. So the next day, we inquired again, and the man working behind the front desk, Josh, said it was an "extra charge of $399." When we showed him the "free amenities" sign from our room, he went and rummaged around in the back room and handed us random plates, pans, silverware, etc. No coffee pot, though. Also asked for a broom, and he seemed confused about what that was. We discovered later that you only clean if we ask you to do so, after being told it was scheduled and when our day was. So our room was only cleaned by YOUR staff once during our two-week stay. We bought our own cleaning supplies so we could clean the room. After the first 12 hours, my feet were BLACK on the bottom from the dirty linoleum floor. We had to request clean linens, towels, and TP. Sometimes it took 3-4 days to get new linens. Had to make our own beds up. Oh, and the on-site laundry room was out of service our last five days there. Also, this extended stay "suite" has NO comfortable furniture--no lounge chair, no couch, no table. Two hardback chairs and the two beds that were so high off the floor that even at 5'9", my feet dangled. The bathroom faucet fell off every time we used it. And when we finally got a coffee pot, it came without filters, so we had to buy those, too. There were three doors to go through coming in the building. None were automatic. Very ridiculous for a hotel. Inconvenient for someone like me, using a walker. The doors were supposed to be locked for our safety, but they never were. Some guests were literally out of their minds during the night hours, screaming and singing and pounding the walls, and we were surprised they weren't removed. The directions in the room said we needed to dispose of our own garbage and said it was outside on the south side of the building; it was on the north end. The parking lot was filthy, also. We had also been told we could print or fax things at the front desk, but when we requested to do that a couple days in, the person working said that was impossible. You wouldn't allow a refund if we checked out earlier than our two weeks, or we most certainly would have. This was by far the worst motel/hotel I've ever stayed in--ever. For the price paid ($2,000), we expected cleanliness, good customer service, and safety--at the very least. Massive FAIL.

There were no toiletries available except a box of tissue. No phone to call down to front desk. The sheets were stiffed and had a smell.
