Residence Inn Potomac Mills Woodbridge

Our room was very clean and spacious; however, the “smart” TV did not allow us to stream anything. We wanted to stream our favorite show on Amazon Prime and the TV kept giving an error message that said “This 4K content requires HDCP2.2 for playback” and then no video would play, only sound. ANY content we tried to stream we received this message. I tried to hook up our travel Roku and the volume on the TV was so loud it scared our baby. The remote would not control the TV volume unless you were inside the completely useless Bonvoy TV app. So we couldn’t use our travel Roku and the Bonvoy TV app wouldn’t work to stream anything. I just don’t understand how Marriott can have TVs in rooms in 2024 that do not comply with encryption/anti-piracy protection from 2014. This is the ONLY hotel I have ever stayed in where I have encountered this issue and not been able to use my own Roku. I was very, very disappointed.

Very clean, good breakfast w gluten free options, and a pleasant front desk. Liked additional space compared to either Spring Hill Suites or other Marriott properties. Quiet area w easy parking. Plenty of shopping nearby, avoiding much of the DC traffic mess, and close to cheaper gas and other things assiciated w Costco

Tired hotel, dirty hallways, ice machines didn't work. No paper towels in public restrooms. Front desk staff clueless. Expected more from this type of hotel. We will not stay here again and that's a shame as we have Bonvey status and travel to this area often.

We LOVE this hotel!! Due to my husbands job, we actually lived here for over a YEAR!!! They take pride in their hotel and customers. I cannot say enough about the staff here. A huge thank you to Luke, Anna, Maria, Maria, Andrea and Nancy as well as my favorite housekeeper…Flora. Y’all made our extended stay so nice and it just felt like home!! If you are in the area, definitely give this hotel a chance! Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Location is great. Right off the interstate and about 20-30 min outside of DC. I had stayed here one time before with no issues. With my most recent stay there was a power outage in the late evening for about 4 1/2 hours. When I checked out the next morning nothing was said, no apology or anything. They obviously don’t have a backup generator, which as a hotel they should invest in. When I brought up the power outage they acted like they didn’t know about it or it was no big deal. I asked about a potential credit or discount and nothing could be offered. Even when I called a manager she basically didn’t want to bother and said she couldn’t control the weather. Just terrible customer service when I stay for one night and can’t sleep because the power goes out for an extended amount of time due to their lack of backup power.

We stayed here for two nights, first night there was party next door, we waited past midnight, we finally went to front desk to complaint and the night front desk lady was courteous enough to call the room in 417 to disperse the party. There was no one else in the hotel besides the front desk for any security or safety issues. Later in the night it got quite all the party people left. Next morning while going out I had mentioned housekeeper at 10:45am, she was cleaning the room across my room with a big housekeeping cart to clean our room, she assured us it will be cleaned, when we returned to the hotel at 10:15pm, nothing was done, no replishment of towels. We called front desk and I forgot the name of the lady, she mentioned we don't do service on Sundays, I have worked in hotels for many years , and so far there is no covid situation anymore for limited service. We had to go down to get fresh towels. It doesn't justify with all this excuses.

The front desk staff was extremely helpful and kind at check in, and explained all the amenities. We were staying we two small children and the rooms were clean and spacious with plenty of room for working off some energy they had from traveling in the car all day. The hotel was quite at night. We enjoyed waffles and cereal the next morning at the complimentary breakfast that was well stocked and staffed. A great experience.

Read several negative reviews, so was somewhat apprehensive about staying with my wife. We both found the hotel overall a very clean environment. There was no offensive odors in the hotel and our room. Due to the comments, the first thing we checked was the bathroom. There was no sign of mold and mildew and no offensive odors. The room was actually quite fresh. All kitchen utensils and dishware were available and in order.

Complete disappointment with our stay. We chose to stay here for 1 night while attending a wedding. The property was well aware of the wedding event. Check in time is 4pm, and the shuttle the property assisted in setting up had 2 pick up times from 4 - 4:45 as the wedding began at 5pm. Anyway, we called the day before to see if it would be possible to arrange a somewhat early check in. The person said they would see what they could do. Upon arrival the next day at 3pm we talked to a front desk agent who basically said check in is at 4 and there are 6 people on the early check in list before you. I explained we had called ahead yesterday and he said there is nothing to indicate that. He took my number and said he would call when available. So as time passed we realized we needed to be at the wedding venue so we drove ourselves (not being able to use the free shuttle). We did finally receive a call at 5:15...the wedding had begun at 5! So once we wrap up at the wedding we make our way back around 11/12 and finally get checked in. That was annoying considering we were unable to take advantage of the free shuttle and open bar at the reception. Once in the room, we discovered one of the TVs was not working and the furniture ecasing the cables and cords was broken and even had frayed wires exposed! We also were in need of pillow and blankets for the pull out sofa and placed a request through the app....an hour passed without any response or assistance so I went down to the front desk. No one was at the desk, but a man who did not appear to be in uniform stepped out from the shadows of the lobby while on his phone as asked if I needed something. I informed him of our needs and the lack of response from our request. He went looking for our items and returned a few minutes later with them. The next morning (11am) I tried to speak with a manager but was told there was not one on duty? I explained in detail to the desk agent with intention to advise them of their shortcomings in order to help future guests. I also asked if there was a way to receive partial compensation. I was told that requires manager approval so a note was made for the AGM to call me. This front desk agent (Anna) was attentive and polite however I NEVER GOT A CALL FROM ANYONE. It has now just become the principle behind it. A 5 minute call is not too much to ask is it?
