The Olive Exclusive All-Suite Hotel

We stayed a couple of times at this property and enjoyed it a lot. The design is beautiful, with great art pieces throughout the common areas and the guest rooms. The food is excellent (so you don’t have to leave the place), and the staff friendly. The only issue we had is the first night with room number 4 as it is located at the edge of the property, whose neighbor has a noisy dog barking at night. Ask for another room! The second time we were upgraded to one of the rooms that has a private plunge pool and this was totally worth it. We would definitely stay again at the Olive

Excellent boutique hotel! Beautifully appointed rooms, stayed in suite 3. Jane has been very friendly and helpful in the restaurant and reception. Will definitely return. A great start to our Namibia road trip. We arrived at Windhoek airport and checked into Olive Exclusive, we loved the touch of Africa, and the smiles on the staff’s faces as they welcomed us. Do yourself a favour and eat in, the menu is excellent as well as the wine selection. Nothing was too much trouble.

An unbeatable way to start your Namibian vacation. The Olive Exclusive has all the quality of a big-brand hotel chain. At the same time, it’s small and personal; so it feels like you’re staying at home with friends. And certainly the management and staff make it feel like home. Gavin, Melissa, Daphne and Antoinette were happy to go the extra mile and more. A small example: we wanted to wander over to Independence Avenue and see the Christuskiche. Though it’s a pretty safe city, Gavin said it gets a little too quiet on a weekend (this was a Saturday). So he drove us there and then picked us up after we’d had a bit of a wander. The food at the hotel is great and the suites are tastefully done. We didn’t use the plunge pool but it looked nice, though a little small. Our guidebook says that Namibia makes for a soft landing into Africa. Well, in the same way, The Olive Exclusive makes for a soft landing into Namibia! Strongly recommended. It’s a small property with only 7 suites, so plan well and book in advance.

The hotel was nice. It’s what I would say is secluded with a gate, so didn’t feel comfortable exploring. That left the hotel as the only place to eat. The room was ok. There are a lot of floor lights which are distracting. The beds were comfortable. The shower was AMAZING. The best water pressure. The staff was great as well.

Windhoek needs a top quality hotel and the Olive Exclusive could be fabulous Arrived to find a glorious room bathed in sunshine but soon found that maintenance was severely lacking. The door lock did not work and the room was freezing cold as it transpired that the heating units were actually set to cooling. Three visits later (including from the head of maintenance) nobody could do anything and they produced a small old oil filled radiator. When I tackled the manager at dinner on this she looked at me and said well are the units set the heating rather than cooling. In one visit from her it was sorted - none of the people who had been to the room to look at this were able to identify the problem - complete lack of training - how about some instructions in the room? Dinner was equally uninspiring - ordered a fillet steak almost London prices to be presented with a tough cold piece of meat which is clearly been reheated - sent it back they cut it in half put it on the grill and returned it lukewarm. I sent it back again and said I wanted a new piece of fillet and it was delicious - complete try on to get me to eat old meat? This hotel could be fabulous if only they could get everyone in the place to be as efficient and friendly as the reception lady who greeted me when I arrived Completely unmet potential

Great friends with great Taste. Proper food , safe parking -friendly helpfull staff and managers. Excellent view from deck. Everything you can wish for in the room. Bliss , a must for the executive.

Un peu en dehors de la ville un très beau lodge magnifiquement décoré. Un accueil parfait, avec du personnel gentil et souriant, et professionnel. Nous avions une suite superbe, grande très grande , également décorée avec beaucoup de gout. Piscine à débordement très belle vue sur les oliviers. Rien ne manque, très propre, une literie de haut niveau. Wifi dans la chambre. Le diner du soir est succulent, copieux avec un service impeccable de la souriante et professionnelle Antoinette. Un super cocktail fait par le Chef en personne. Et que dire du hamburger du midi , un chef d’œuvre. Tout le personnel est à l’écoute et prêt à vous aider surtout pour les problèmes internet. Un très bel établissement de grande classe. Merci à toute l’équipe pour votre classe.

Der Name des Hotels wurde irgendwann ohne unser Wissen in Olive Grove Hotel umbenannt. Was uns irritiert hatte. Wir standen bei unserer Ankunft erst einmal einige Minuten vor dem verschlossen Tor und wussten nicht, ob wir richtig sind. Als zufällig zwei Mitarbeiter das Tor öffneten, weil sie raus mussten, konnten wir reinfahren und nachfragen. Wir wurden kurz begrüßt und ohne Erklärung zu einer anderen Suite gebracht als wir gebucht hatten. Auf meine Frage, warum wir nicht die gebuchte Etosha Suite bekamen, wurde mir geantwortet, dass der Pool nicht in Ordnung sei, weil es in der letzten Nacht so stark geregnet hätte. Die Ersatz Suite gefiel uns überhaupt nicht. Sie war auf 18 Grad runtergekühlt, was sich beim Eintreten erst mal wie ein Gefrierschrank anfühlte. Zusätzlich kam kaum Licht ins Zimmer, weil das Gebüsch vor dem Balkon, (was in der Hotelbeschreibung als Olivenhain bezeichnet wird), so zugewuchert war, dass es fast vollständig die Sicht nach draußen versperrt hat. Nicht dass man auf einen schönen Garten schauen könnte, was als Olivenhain bezeichnet wird, ist verwildertes, ungepflegtes Brach-Land für das niemand zuständig zu sein scheint. Beim Blick ins Tauchbecken war mir sofort klar, dass es mir zu dreckig ist, als das ich da reingehen würde. Der Beckenrand war mit einer Holzleiste verkleidet, aus der ein großes Stück rausgebrochen war und sogar ein rostiger Nagel abstand. Das hat schon mal jemand kritisiert, also ignoriert man in diesem Haus die offensichtlichen Mängel einfach. Im Wasserbecken für die Füße war ein großes Loch, somit war es unbrauchbar und dann hätte man es auch einfach wegräumen können, anstatt es kaputt stehen zu lassen. In der Ersatz Suite wollte ich nicht schlafen. Wir baten darum, uns trotz unbrauchbarem Tauchbecken die Ethosha Suite zu zeigen. Diese war wenigstens nicht so zugewuchert, so dass Licht rein kam. Aber im Tauchbecken waren bereits Algenablagerungen vorzufinden, welche nicht erst vor ein paar Tagen entstanden sein können. Was ist denn so schwer daran, die Tauchbecken mal zu reinigen oder frisch zu streichen? Für eine Nacht mit Frühstück lässt man sich schließlich weit über 500 Euro bezahlen. So was ekliges habe ich noch in keinem Hotel vorgefunden. Auch die beiden Balkonstühle waren nicht in Ordnung. Die Sitzfläche war an an beiden Stühlen seitlich eingerissen. In der Toilette löst sich erheblich die Tapete ab. Ich denke nicht, dass es einen großen Aufwand bedeuten würde, sie wieder anzukleben. Im Zimmer steht eine Leiter zur Dekoration, von der bereits eine Sprosse ausgebrochen ist. Kann man sie nicht entfernen, wenn sie sowieso keinen Nutzen hat, anstatt sie kaputt rumstehen zu lassen? Die Getränke im Kühlschrank waren komplett tiefgefroren. Die meisten Mängel ließen sich ohne große Kosten und mit einen Putzlappen beseitigen. Joli endroit, terrasse sympa, chambres très jolies, gérante sympa qui nous a accompagné au resto avec sa voiture, mais le sèche cheveux ne fonctionne pas, on est réveillé à 7h du matin par les travaux dans la chambre d'à coté, pas de décapsuleur pour le mini bar, personne pour ouvrir le portail en rentrant du restaurant à 22h, il faut attendre et klaxonner en pleine nuit, bref, des détails, mais en nombre, donc un peu génant.....
