Lovely guesthouse with super friendly hosts. Beautiful breakfasts. Fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, yoghurt and the selection of a hot breakfasts from vegetarian, full English, porridge, muffin with smoked salmon. Super delicious. Will definitely be returning. I loved staying at Jane & Paul’s place. The hardest thing I had to do each day was to get out of the super comfortable bed. The generous breakfast offerings lured me from the bed. I was so full, I skipped lunch and found wonderful tea shops each day within an easy walk. Everything was very clean, and the room was quiet. There was ample street parking. Jane & Paul we’re extremely knowledgeable about the area - what to do, see, times to go, and recommended great restaurants based on my tastes. It is conveniently located within a short walk of Windermere & Burton on Windermere. (My traveling companion is in her 80’s and we had no problem walking in either direction.). I only wished that I had planned to stay longer.

We returned to Montfort Cottage guest house for the fourth time to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary. As on our 3 previous visits, Jane and Paul were the perfect hosts and could not have done any more to make our stay any more enjoyable. This included preparing the room with Anniversary decorations I had sent prior to our visit. Our room was absolutely superb and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast was as good as ever and served in a very homely dining room. A trip to The Lakes wouldn’t be the same without staying at Montfort Cottage, highly recommended.👍

My partner and I recently enjoyed a lovely long weekend at Montfort Cottage. It was the perfect base for our visits to Windermere, Bowness-on-Windermere, Grasmere and Ambleside. Jane and Paul were so friendly and welcoming and have made their beautiful guest house a real home from home. We stayed in the Windermere room, which had a huge and comfy super kingsize bed. The house itself and the area were very peaceful and we both slept really well. The bathroom was spotless and the complimentary toiletries were a great touch. Breakfast was delicious and both Paul and Jane were very attentive and helpful, offering extra toast and coffee and providing very useful advice for places to visit and events going on in the area. The amenities were fantastic too. We made use of the iron, hairdryer and fan during our stay and it saved us some luggage space knowing these were available! Parking was free which was a huge bonus and we didn’t have any trouble finding a space despite it being a particularly busy weekend with the amazing weather and an event at Lake Windermere. I would definitely recommend Montfort Cottage to anyone considering a stay in the area. It was very reasonably priced, excellent customer service and an amazing experience all round. I’m sure we will be back in the future!

This property is fantastic starting with the hosts Jane and Paul very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area and surrounding areas .the room we had was clean very comfortable really good also the breakfast was really nice and well presented with lots of options really really good can't recommend this place enough if your thinking about booking this place please do so it's very good can't wait to stay again thanks Jane and Paul for a special stay made our trip fantastic. Jane and Paul are excellent hosts, very welcoming and made us feel at home as soon as we walked through the front door. The rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable. The cooked breakfast was delicious as well there being other alternatives such as cereals, fruit and yogurt available. Good value for money and within walking distance to all amenities. Would highly recommend Montford Cottage Guest House if you are looking for a pleasant experience in Windermere. Thank you both for a very enjoyable stay.
