Langdale Chase Hotel

This is a fabulous hotel in a beautiful setting. The views from our room were stunning and we felt totally indulged, with all the luxury comforts, excellent food (afternoon tea is the best ever) and warm, attentive service. Our room and all the lovely lounges, nooks and hallways were packed with quality decor and interesting features (many historic), with lots of special touches - all immaculately kept. The refurbishment since our last stay is beautiful, thankfully retaining and improving the house’s gorgeous historical features. The staff were all friendly and helpful, making us feel very welcome and ‘spoilt’ (thank you, Barbara)! We particularly enjoyed a garden tour from Claire, the head gardener, whose passion, excellent knowledge and genuine love of the garden, its design and ongoing development, was enchanting. She provided many interesting facts, as well as some top tips for our own garden! We will certainly be returning.

This is a pet friendly hotel? What they don’t say is that you’re allocated a room which in my opinion is a converted store. The room was at the bottom of the hotel away from the bar dining room and staff. When you needed anything (food,drinks) etc you had to pay a delivery charge of £15 which made 3 pints of beer approximately £41. Service at the hotel was poor on the Saturday we asked for someone to come service our room, they arrived at approximately 1530hrs. This person made the bed and set the cushions the room wasn’t hovered or mopped and nothing was done to the en-suite. Our room was under the dining room so we enjoyed listening to chairs being pulled over the floor from approximately 0730 during meal times up to approximately 2200hrs at night. Overall for over £600 per night I’d expect a little more.

Have just celebrated a significant birthday with some friends at Langdale Chase hotel. We had booked for an early afternoon tea. The care and service from the moment we arrived was outstanding. A special mention must be given to Jungran, who made our afternoon tea experience extra special. The food was visually, absolutely spectacular and extremely delicious. A truly lovely time was had by all. Thank you X

We enjoyed a lovely stay recently at this beautiful hotel in a stunning location set alongside the shores of Windermere. This truly is a gem of a hotel. The public rooms are very comfortable and relaxing with log fires burning a welcome in every room. The bedrooms are luxurious and spotless with beautiful views over the gardens to the lake and fells beyond. Food is of a very high standard with innovative dishes presented with flair and creativity. The restaurant is designed to make the best of the views and again is very attractive and comfortable. Staff here are brilliant providing great friendly and professional service which makes a stay a wonderful experience. We are already planning our next visit!

the best hotel in the UK that i have ever visited views ,service,food amazing ,rooms immaculate ,bed so comfortable ,cinema and grounds a pleasure to use ,breakfast/dinner room has a great view of the lake highly recommend,you get what you pay for and here its certainly worth the cost !

A relaxing 3 night stay in a Windermere room gives excellent views worth the upgrade. A lovely big room with superb bathroom, a sofa and coffee table is a nice addition to the room. I would prefer a choice of pillow as ones provided were a little too firm. Lovely "stately home" feel to this hotel, lovely grounds to walk in and on the waters edge of Lake Windermere. Excellent breakfast served by superb staff, cheery and helpful. Didn't have dinner here as cost seemed a bit excessive. Plenty of parking.
