Property was well maintained and clean. Location felt safe and was indeed in walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg (the Capitol end). We could park right in front of our room, and there was a nice bench by each room's door so guests could sit and enjoy the fresh air. The room was spacious. The front office guy that checked us in was super nice. Super value for the price.

Made a reservation via the app using points. Reservation was in my name (only option the app gives you), but was for my niece and her two kids for one night. Called the hotel the day prior and spoke with the general manager (ie, not just anybody), and told them that my niece would be checking in. Gave the guy my niece's name. General manager assured me he understood and had put a note on the reservation. Niece arrived. Reception clerk refused flat out to let her check in. She had to buy a room herself. When I called the next day, the reception clerk was rude and actually hung up on me. That's how they treat people at this hotel. There's tons of nice hotels in Williamsburg where you can get a good night's sleep and not be treated poorly. The Rodeway Inn Historic (a Choice hotel) is not one of them.

Stayed here while in town visiting a relative that lives in assisted living. Actually makes my 2nd time staying here. Property is older,but has been kept up in wonderful condition. Much like my first time, room was clean and staff was friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

This is an older property, but well maintained with USB charging ports on the light fixtures. The first impression of a hotel is always the smell, and there was none. It was fresh, but not perfumed. A+. The rooms were large. The property was well-maintained. We didn't get to try out the pool because of the weather. Air conditioning was working properly and not noisy. There were no disturbing noises at any time. The property has an old south leisurely feel, with benches outside each room. The bed was too firm for my taste, but no one else in our party had problems. The continental breakfast was very minimal. No waffles or other hot food. No cream cheese for the bagel.

The convenience of a one level park- in- front of your room motel as well as the historic aspect drew me here. It is a charming location. The front desk employee was very pleasant and friendly. It has a vintage feel of a motel from the 60's or 70's but updated for modern comfort on the inside. I did feel safe because the old windows are painted shut, chain on door with extra turn lock. And modern key cards on the old doors are your method of entry. My air unit did seem to not cool as well my second night. And front desk seemed attentive to the issue. Outdoor pool. Mini fridge WITH freezer and microwave are in the room. Continental breakfast with coffee, cereal, juice, muffins, and toast. My one suggestion would be to change the bed coverings from the old vintage bedspreads to a more modern comforter sandwiched between two sheets or duvet covering which is washed between stays for a more sanitary feel and appearance. I loved the charm and convenience. Very close to everything.

Comfortable and clean. Loved the fact that it is an early walk to Colonial Williamsburg. Also, good restaurants, the pancake house next door is a must. Fast and delicious. The Rodeway is in a perfect location. Enjoyed being able to walk around the area.

We went on 12/2, got there about 3:00 to check in. There was no heat, when I went to inquire, they turned the heat on. We left and didn’t get back to the room until about 10.00. When we used the restroom the toilet wouldn’t flush. In the morning my wife went to take a shower and there was no hot water. She washed her hair with the cold water from the shower. We then went to the adjacent pancake house for breakfast and to use their facilities. After breakfast, we walked back to our room and the door was locked! When we went to the front desk, the maintenance man had one excuse after another. How dare you rent a room with no hot water or toilet!?! How did the condition of the room get overlooked? Why weren’t we offered another room? We have stayed with these folks for decades and never had any issues! I guess that customer service is no longer available, but if/when we go there again, I will want to see the assigned room before signing any paperwork!

Rooms in need of updating and repair. Very dirty carpet. Breakfast is not what is in pics. Only cereal and powdered donuts. Temp in room hard to control. Heard others complain about temp and wee told it was working. Not attempt to resolve. Asked to see manager, told not available. You get what you pay for. I will not stay here again.

For sure this is an older motel as all of the rooms are drive up to your door, but it was reasonable and clean inside the rooms! We booked through *********** for the rooms. I can handle old if it is clean and it was inside the rooms. As for the Continental Breakfast if you don’t arrive early there isn’t anything left. Not sure if it’s because clients load up and return to their rooms to eat later or if they are short on staff to refill the continental breakfast items, but we didn’t eat there for the two day nights we stayed. After 10 AM there is no more coffee so I guess you should either make coffee in your room or get up earlier for it(?). The Manager/ Owner was very professional and courteous. The General Manager who had been there for many years was not quite as friendly however we enjoyed our stay. It was convenient to Colonial Williamsburg and other restaurants in the area. Overall we had a good stay!
