Merakii Seaview Escape Curacao

Five stars for the hotel staff! Everyone was so pleasant, helpful and accommodating. The hotel was off the ocean, with more of peekaboo views. You must have a car. The hotel was just a few minutes drive away from the main area, where the bridge and restaurants are. The island was gorgeous and the people were all so nice. The room itself was just adequate, no frills. We stayed for 10 days and never had a staff person bringing in towels, etc-we had to ask for fresh towels and empty our own garbage. Cleanliness is most important and the floors needed a good mopping!

Our family stayed here for 19 days from February to March. We extended our vacation due to the great accomodations at Merakii, the amazing weather in Curacao, and the snowstorms at home. Lol. Merakii staff seamlessly accommodated our change of plans, and worked with us to provide rooms that were configured to our needs. The rooms are clean, have a fun Carribean vibe, with spacious, freshly painted walls, a well-appointed kitchen, very comfortable beds, new dressers and bar-height table/chairs, and a generous amount of fluffy white towels. The air conditioning was quiet and effective. The salt water swimming pool was clean and refreshing after a hot day touring the island. Loungers and palm-roofed tables spaced around the pool were great for relaxation and also to socialize while sipping a drink and enjoying finger foods from the bar. The bar is well-appointed with various liquors, and the local bar-tenders concoct fun and "special" cocktails. It is the heart of Merakii. The bar staff are very personable and can speak several languages. They are fun to talk with, and are knowledgeable about the island (ie. Good grocery stores, restaurants, etc.). Other front-line staff, including the lovely receptionist, are locals and are very friendly. Merakii is centrally located on the island, and this is appreciated when travelling to either end of the island. It is close to downtown, but a rental car is still required to drive there. There is free and secure parking at the Renaissance Centre, which is a great place to start exploring downtown Willemstad on foot. Merakii is safe and secure, with a large gated entry and exit. Be advised that Merakii is situated on a slope overlooking the ocean, and there is some up and downhill walking as well as stairs. Parking is free. It is wonderful to enjoy a morning coffee on the balcony and watch the ships coming and going on the ocean. We loved Merakii!

Merakii Seaview Escape is an amazing property close to everything in Willemstad. We stayed for two weeks and it became our home away from home. The rooms and the property are incredible clean. We utilized the kitchen everyday and appreciated the air conditioning when in the room. The staff on property is amazing (big shout out to Adrienne and Angee who assisted us when we required last minute accommodations.) The amenities on property are great. Coffee is a really nice touch along with a great bar at the pool. We visit Curaçao every year and the Merakii is by far the best property we have stayed at. We will be back next year!

Kort van tevoren geboekt en kon gelijk terecht. Goed internet voor als je nog moet werken. Zit dicht bij Willemstad maar hebt geen lawaai of geluid van feesten etc. Zit een bar bij het zwembad die goed eten hebben. Niet bijzonder veel keus maar wat ze hebben is goed en ze maken het vers. Zit ook dicht in de buurt van veel stranden en duikspots voor als je je PADI hebt.

The best place to stay on the island, very clean and comfortable and everyone makes sure you have everything that you need! It is also in a great location to get to lots of beaches, restaurants,shopping and fun! Also the bar at Merakii has the best drinks!

This is possibly the most friendly stay in the Caribbean! Super clean with a fantastic pool! 6 out of 5 stars if possible. The resort is easy to access with night security, a beautiful pool, and incredibly clean rooms with awesome air conditioning. The mattresses were nice and firm and we slept wonderfully! The poolside bar is a great place to unwind after a day of touring or at the beach! Can’t wait to come back!
