We were very dubious about this hotel from previous reviews but we really wanted to stay in this village and experience those views and we were pleasantly surprised by the experience. We requested a room with a balcony and got the corner room (33) on the top floor and had 2 small balconies, 1 overlooking all the way to Interlaken and the lake and the other over the Jungrau's, it was breathtaking. The rooms were clean and the beds really comfortable, our wardrobe was a bit tricky to use as the drawer and door couldn't be opened without the other, and yes as other reviewers noted there is a kettle but no tea/coffee or cups but otherwise it was fairly spacious and tidy. The breakfast was excellent, buffet style and lots of areas to eat inside and outside though it was still a bit cool in the mornings for us to do that but would be lovely in summer. Lots to choose from including some hot offerings of eggs and bacon, could've been more fresh fruit and variety of pastries (only croissants) but that is my only minor criticism. It is a bit of a walk into town but there are several restaurants in the village that were excellent, we ate at Hotel Baren and Luna Piccante and both were great. On our 2nd day after a big hike we came back and the weather was lovely and warm and we were able to take advantage of the pool which was gorgeous to sit there and swim in the clean pool and look after the mountains vista. We had no issues with the staff, all were friendly and exceptionally helpful guiding us for eating and travelling around. If you are ok with an averagely decorated hotel in an amazing, stunning and quite location in an authentic village then this is the place for you.
