Boardwalk Lodge – Self-Catering arvostelua

Very good location for the village with beautiful views of the coast. We received lots of helpful advice and tips about the area and places to eat.

150 Stufen - Stairway to Heaven Wir hatten das Chalet #5 gemietet. Viel Platz, gute Ausstattung, schöne Terrasse mit traumhaften Blick auf das Meer. Der Weber-Grill war blitz-blank sauber, die Küche mit allem ausgestattet, was man im Urlaub braucht. Der tägliche Zimmerservice war sehr aufmerksam. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt und wir können das Chalet nur weiterempfehlen. Angeblich haben die einzelnen Chalets unterschiedliche Besitzer und sind unterschiedlich ausgestattet - Nummer 5 war auf jeden Fall sehr schön. Chalet 3 gehört dem gleichen Besitzer und hat ein Schlafzimmer mehr.

The Garden Route in South Africa's Western Cape is certainly one of the most beautiful regions in a country that is not short of wonderful landscapes. And Wilderness is one of the most beautiful places there. If your trip takes you there, then we can definitely recommend the Boardwalk Lodge for an overnight stay. Situated in a slightly elevated position and just a few minutes' walk from the beach, the rooms are individual cottages nestled in the greenery like chalets. The rooms are spacious and equipped with everything you need for a pleasant stay. All important areas, such as the charming breakfast room, can be reached via wooden stairs. The two owners, Chris and Melissa, have created a real gem in one of the most beautiful places in South Africa. And there's no doubt that we'll be returning here on our next visit to Wilderness. Very friendly and very helpful host! We enjoyed to stay there so much and hope to come back! The way to the beach is easy and short. Maybe 15 minutes to walk. In wilderness are lots of restaurants and lots of nature activities to do!

Melissa and her team ensured that we had a wonderful stay at her B&B. The location was great and just a few minutes from the beach and the lagoon. Its also walking distance to some very nice restaurants. The rooms have everything you need and in great condition. We will definitely come again!

Melissa, her staff and the lodge are perfect. We have felt so welcome and our room was great. The views are beautiful and it is just a short walk to and from the center (with nice restaurants) and the beach. Breakfast is very nice and the onsite pool was great to hang out on quiet afternoons. We would definately come back to Wilderness and the Boardwalk Lodge!

On arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Chris and Melissa. They were so helpful, not only with our luggage but also recommending activities in the area. Breakfast was lovely to start the day with. Not only the rooms were spacious and comfortable, we could also enjoy the magnificent views from the café's deck. To our great surprise, we got lucky and even managed to see a visiting small antelope that Melissa discovered in the bush and pointed out to us. All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much and recommend staying here to anyone looking for an accommodation in and around Wilderness.

We decided spontaneously to stay in Wilderness and found a little paradise. Broadway Lodge is in a wonderful location on the hill, features beautiful rooms and views and has exceptionally friendly hosts.

Great furnished apartment in a great location, 5 minutes walk to restaurants and shops. Clean pool and breakfast buffet overlooking the sea. Excellent service, we received great tips on restaurants and trips. We would book the accommodation directly again.

Traumhaft schön gelegenes Ferienhaus mit Blick aufs Meer und toller Ausstattung. Es sind zwar einige Stufen um in das Haus zu gelangen, der Ausblick ist es aber wert. Wir können die Anlage nur empfehlen.

We stayed here for 4 nights from 29 Dec - 2 Jan . The Lodge is situated on a slope with views over the ocean & lagoon . The Rooms higher up have more panoramic views but be prepared to climb a few steps. Our stay was in room 13 & 14 , the Luxury Rooms with only about 20 steps to climb , close to Reception & a few steps away from the on site restaurant , where we enjoyed really good breakfasts & service , part of cost. The rooms were spacious with a coffee/tea station , a fridge , plenty of cupboard space & a safe. There was a small balcony where we enjoyed early mornings & evenings after a day out. The Lodge is within walking distance of the town or so called Village , about 5-7min walk and about a 10min walk to the Lagoon. We braaid/barbequed a few evenings which as very pleasant. If you staying in these rooms then bring along your own utensils/crockery as only self catering units have the necessary . There is also a braai facility next to the pool area . The on site restaurant also has a bar & is open from 8am-5pm & has really great views over the ocean. There is of road safe parking behind a boom. The Lodge was very peaceful & we certainly enjoyed our stay & would visit again. There were just a few minor things that impacted a 5 rating but overall from the booking experience & quick responses to e mails to the overall experience , it was great.

The lodge was really lovely. Good size room and bathroom. The location is great and you can walk to all the bars/shops/restaurants in a few minutes. The walk back is up a fairly steep hill and the lodge has lots of stairs but it’s worth it. The hosts were friendly and extremely helpful. You can tell they are very passionate about the lodge and area. They gave us recommendations of places to go and places to avoid. Like everywhere in South Africa the lodge suffers from electric load shedding for hours each day. Other than not being able to use a hairdryer during these times you can hardly notice due to their solar back up. The owners were great with keeping us up to date with the load shedding schedule everyday so we always knew what was happening. Wilderness is a great base for so many beautiful places nearby and the boardwalk lodge was excellent for the 4 nights we stayed. We hope to return one day.

Loved the one night stay at Boardwalk, wish that we could have stayed longer. View from room was awesome and really enjoyed speaking with the family that runs the place. Super friendly and gave helpful tips on restaurants and places to visit in Wilderness.
