The Noel at Whitwell

It was ok but the Breakfast was not good, it was lukewarm the sausages was awful and the eggs were greasy Did not enjoy.

We have started going away for weekends instead of longer holidays and booked The Noel as we had never been to aRutland Water ThevNoel is very clean with good rooms, well looked after and with excellent breakfasts and reasonably priced, well cooked evening meals. Mark and Claire are excellent and friendly hosts, and the hotel is very quiet with good car parking. As a place to stay at Rutland Water it cannot be bettered. Just a short drive, or walk, away is Whitwell Harbour with access to The Rutland Belle for cruises on the water We went for the birdwatching so the event ng Osprey Cruise, run by the local Wildlife Trust is to be recommended Also within easy reach are the two main reserves at Egleton and, the better reserve for Osprey views, at Lyndon. We had a brilliant time there. Rutland Water is great for walking, cycling and water sports and The Noel provides the perfect base. We would highly recommend The Noel and will look forward to returning

The hotel was disappointing. The shower was not powerful. Breakfast was not good. We had to ask for orange juice and toast. Because we don't like cooked tomatoes or baked beans we got one fried egg, two bacon rashers, one sausage and some cold mushrooms, both days. I doubt we will stay again and we visit Rutland often. Definitely not good value at £108 per night

What a fabulous time we had when stated at the Noel. Amazing room, amazing food as always and brilliant staff that made our stay s good as it gets. Can't wait to go back, thank you again Mark and Clare

Bit of a shame We stayed for 1 night, arrived late at night, there was someone present when we arrived and they checked us in, breakfast was to be served at 8:30 in the morning. We showed up at 8:40 for breakfast, no one there, we looked everywhere, not a soul, we tried calling the hotel, no answer. Breakfast isnt really included if theres no one to serve breakfast! We had to go somewhere else instead. Only plus point was that the beds were comfy.
