For chilly nights there is a wood stove in the main room . There is also a public ramp and dock on the Back River (perfect for kayaking) approximately 1 mile away. The house was built in 1913 as a guest lodge for Doggett Castle and much of the old-world charm of the house remains. The property is just a short ride to Booth Bay Harbor, Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, Popham Beach State Park, Robinhood, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, Oven's Mouth preserve, Bath and many more of Maines popular attractions and some of Maines best Lobster restaurants. There are also many hiking and biking trails in the area. Please be aware that the house sits on top of hill requiring climbing a long staircase (see picture) and it is not handicap accessible.
