Mountain Lake Cottages

I knew the area from previous visits, but found Mountain Lake Cottages in internet, very randomly, and I found their place lovely from the pictures, remarkable. My plan was to spend a weekend in the green state of Vermont, I wanted to show the surroundings of the lake to my parents who were visiting me from Spain, eat at the Busy Bee and show them the Bread&Puppet museum. But on Friday, when we where on our way from Canada, driving in car, we had some troubles at the border. I felt deeply disappointed, we had to solve some issue with papers, so we had to delay our trip -maybe even cancel it. Here is where the surprise begin: Kris called me to follow up on the problem, every day, trying to support a find solutions, being super empathic and kind. We finally solved the problem and came (two days later than expected). Kris had the cottage ready, super cozy, for us. I felt the problem was less problematic by having Kris support. I highly reccomend the experience : besides from the fact that you will be treated like a human, even like a queen, the area is just beautiful. We went right at the season of the hummingbirds, and Kris installed a drining water system for them in our cabin, so we could see them close. FIrst time in our lives! Cris did an excellent job as host - she was super flexible to our plans and made our stay easy and comfortable. Great lake location and cabins were perfect. Asylum of highly vocal loons were amazing. Highly recommend staying and playing here.

It was quiet, charming in a rustic way, Very clean, and with lots of attention from Kris, the on-site property manager. We were right on Lake Willoughby and it was absolutely gorgeous. There's not a lot to do in the area in the fall / winter, but we wanted just to go and relax, and we did that! It was perfect for us. We stayed in cabin number one, the original log cabin, and as one might expect it had a bit of a draft - but fresh air is a good thing when it's offset by a good heating system! The Wi-Fi was weak /slow but we didn't care because the AT&T cell service was just fine, and we accessed the internet that way or used a hotspot. We enjoyed some really good food at the Gap, a local restaurant, and the foliage color was just spectacular.. If you're not concerned about having everything look "modern", then I would say this is a perfect place for a getaway! We might even try it sometime for a family vacation, as there are many small cottages in one place the lakeshore.

Beautiful What a view!!! If you would like one of the best vistas nature has to offer, this place is it. Our host was amazing and made sure our stay was perfect.
