Chapwani Private Island

I don’t know a place more peaceful than this place. Staff was super friendly and helpful. I loved all of it. Hope I’ll get back soon Would be even better if they had something to do at night. Some kind of show or something. It gets kinda boring when it’s just eat dinner and then go to bed.

First sight was stunning and first day a very good experience, but we had a few unpleasant surprises during the beginning of our stay. First we had a fan that did not work, a bed that broke down and 2 out of 3 bathroom with almost no water running. Together with lack of information (I dont blame the resort for this but our travel company) about the tide, that made it difficult to swim in the ocean for almost 5 hours every day and a not that clean pool, and almost same food every day, we were ready to change hotel/resort after 3 days. I talked to the manager and they fixed every issue (unfortunately they could not fix the tide :-) ) and we found out that we was able to order other than the menu. The manager also said according to some of our "complaints" that : We dont have flatscreen or aircondition, because this is another kind of resort....My comment to this was, we do have some expectations when we pay about 150 dollars p.p. a nigth and one of our expectations is that its not up to which person of the staff you talk to to decide the price of the service. We got 3 different prices for both handling/wash of clothes and for the boat service, if it was not possible to go back on schedule with the boat. But after this conversation, we did enjoy the rest of our stay, but if we come back, it will not be for more than 3 days, but we were also 6 adults and mostly enjoyed swimming in the sea. The bungalows were nice and good cleaning every day even after 2 stormy nights with sand all over in the bungalows.

Cet établissement semblait idyllique sur les photos, la déception en fût d'autant plus grande. Arrivée en navette à 13h30, l'île est belle, le bungalow sur la plage. Tout semble parfait. Hélas quand on entre ça se gâte. Deco plus que simpliste, équipement proche de 0, pas de clim, pas de télé bref passons. La salle de bains est vétuste, les robinets dignes de la decheterie. Pas de pression, de l'eau chaude aléatoire... On nous annonce que l'électricité sera coupée à minuit, pas de WiFi dans les chambres et une intensité de lumière ne permettant aucune lecture. Le dîner est annoncé pour 20h, il s'avérera niveau cantine, et à 20h45 extinction des feux. Rester à la Réception pour se connecter semble déranger. Hélas, la nuit ne sera pas calme puisque la discothèque de la Côte semble être dans votre chambre, ce qui est gênant pour une île déserte. L'établissement se veut ecolo, hélas vous devrez utiliser de l'eau en bouteille pour vous brosser les dents, bouteille qui se retrouvera certainement échouée sur la plage... Ne parlons pas de la piscine verdâtre, glissante et mal odorante, des matelas que vous devrez déplacer vous même si vous souhaitez changer de lieux. La navette gratuite est à 10h pour un retour à 13h30, autant dire que vous n'aurez le temps de ne rien faire et qu' il vous en coûtera 10€ par personne si vous voulez un autre horaire. Le petit déjeuner sera du même niveau que le dîner pas de surprise. Ne parlons pas des serviettes de toilette et de plage, éliminées au max. Le responsable n'est pas non plus d'une gentillesse à vous faire oublier tous ces désagréments... Le snorkling annoncé comme fabuleux est digne d'une blague. Bref vous comprendrez que nous sommes plus que déçus et que le rapport qualité prix est juste honteux ! Après avoir fait 4 hôtels à Zanzibar, celui-ci restera dans la case à ne jamais refaire..
