Will be back again

Property is great, located in the heart of West End in the middle of Half Moon bay. We stayed 10 days in the Moroccan bungalow, which was spacious and clean. Communication with the owner was excellent. We booked an airport transfer with the room, and the driver was on time and stopped at the grocery store for us before taking us to West End. There was construction going on during our visit, but the workers kept the pathways free of dirt/mud even though a lot was washing out in the rain every day. For most rooms, there are a lot of stairs- something to consider for those unable to handle it. It’s far enough off the main road to be quiet and feels secluded with the nice gardens around the property. Can’t wait to go back here!

If you need a lot to feel comfortable, maybe this place isn’t for you. We found it exactly what we needed, Peaceful, staff was very kind and helpful, Owner was attentive when needed and perfect location. The Islanders are so kind and welcoming no stress, perfect for diving, perfect for lounging. Every meal we had on the island was excellent. Stay here if you’re cool, if not, stay somewhere else-West Bay at the commercialized hotels.

Great little place for the independent traveler, tucked away just off the main strip in the center of West End. We have been to enough of the AIs and every star hotel, and know what matters- cleanliness, location, and safety. This hits all three. Adam, the owner, lives on the property with his family. Communication was great and he was quick to respond to any questions or resolve any issues. Perfect location- peaceful, close to shops/bars/restaurants/dive shops, and the beach is right across the street. No need to rent a car, taxis and water taxis are only a few steps away. We coordinated with Adam for airport pickup and the driver stopped at Eldon’s in Coxen Hole to stock up on groceries to do breakfast and lunches at the room before/after diving and it worked out great. Spent a lot of time on the balcony of the Moroccan suite watching the sunsets before heading out for dinner. Didn’t have one bad meal on the island. Can’t wait to come back and relax here.

Perfect location! Mame trees was excellent! The most perfect location right across the street from the most perfect beach! My deluxe room was clean and spacious. The only thing I needed was a blanket because I was only given a sheet. However, I noticed on the last day that a blanket could have been requested on some written directions. I was a bit confused where to check in as the directions said to go up the hill, but there was a “no trespassing” sign on the gate. However, the day time worker was luckily walking by and saw me confused and helped me check in. Super friendly guy! I will definitely be back to Roatan and will most certainly stay at the Mame Tree again. Oh- also they provide beach loungers- big bonus!

Was an ok stay The location was fantastic but we had a few issues. First when we got there we were informed that you would have to pay an extra 19% if we used a credit card. Second, the door to our room didn't lock. 3rd, there wasn't any soap, shampoo, or conditioner. When we asked if they had any the employee told us where a store was to buy some. The place did have a safe feel to it but it's not cool having to worry about if your belongings are ok when you leave because the door won't lock. There are many stores, bars, and dive shops close by so the location is excellent. Also, use the cheap buses on your stay in Roatan. No need to rent a car.
