Popped in to see if they had any table left without booking, and the bar staff got us seated immediately. We only went for a sandwich or something and ended up having the butchers block for 2. Well.....it was the nicest sunday dinner I have ever had and worth every penny. The waiting staff were spot on. The food was just exceptionally good. I will definitely 100% be back again. Thank you guys it made a refreshing change to go somewhere and it be...... perfect

Such a disappointment, the lunch menu was aimed at a younger generation. No real pub classics apart from fish and chips and pizza. The fish finger sandwich I ordered was served in a small metal bath! The pieces of battered fish were inside doorsteps of white bread which made the batter soggy and ruined the bread. This was squashed in with skinny fries spoiling the whole meal!. My friends ordered fish and chips and pizza. Staff were helpful and friendly but I wouldn't want anyone to go there expecting a really lovely lunch.

What a lovely pub, arrived on a Saturday evening for a 1 night stay, visiting family in the area, friendly welcome shown to the room. Recently renovated, beautiful spacious room with lovely bathroom with toiletries , tea and coffee provided, excellent. Lovely nights stay: Breakfast however service lacking, staff very inattentive like they couldn’t be bothered. One girl in particular was Really quite rude as didn’t even answer when asked for a cup and saucer and spoon. She also asked at the end of the breakfast was Everything ok, when e told Her we were not happy with the service she Just Continued to clear The table and didn’t say anything! Waiting for coffee, milk, had to ask for a spoon… chef was heard shouting ‘service’ from the kitchen as food was ready and no one taking it out. He had to come out and get the waitress to pick the food up!. When the food came eventually it was very nice thank goodness. Just a shame as such a great pub otherwise let Down by staff who don’t care and no management around to guide and ensure running smoothly.

Four of us visited this establishment last evening.3 of us ordered the burger and chips.When it arrived I located the black tasteless burger in between 2 insipid tasteless pieces of bun.Served with the ubiquitous French fries,which were pale and tasted of oil, served in Some sort of chrome cage.All served on a piece of wood.Luckily I realised that the wood was not edible. Probably would have been tastier than the burger.For dessert my partner had the sticky toffee pudding which was burnt black on the underside.This was cut into a square which showed other diners had also been served this burnt black dessert.We complained to a surly young man who gave the impression he had taken the complaint personal.paying the bill they tried to charge me for it.Which did not happen.We would never go back.They obviously do not read the myriad of negative reviews.

Lovely hotel, that has been recently updated using high quality materials, nice tables and chairs with a great atmosphere in the bars and restuarant. Lovely food and excellent breakfast. Rooms a good size and spottlessly clean. Attentive and helpful staff, makes this a great place for a couple of nights stay.

There was a group of 8 of us and our main reason for visiting the area was to go to Chatsworth Christmas markets (30 mins away). We had an Excellent stay, friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for us, the rooms were clean and comfortable. Great breakfast and excellent evening meals.

Went today ..OK its Bank Holiday, but it certainly wasn't busy .After eventually navigating the entrance with a wheelchair we were told it was table service so found a table .15 minutes sitting there by which time a waitress with a Bob and glasses had cleaned numerous tables and walked past us at least 5 times,she serioneeds to go to a personality school.As someone who works in the hospitality trade it wouldn't have hurt her to say " I'll be with you in a minute " it's simple courtesy .... Won't be visiting again !!!

Good and not so good...which is a shame Lovely hotel..great rooms..modern and spotless.. everything working Great parking...great breakfast..we didn't have a evening meal The not so good...our room 107 ovelooked the combined bin / staff smoking/ delivery area The staff finished out here late and started again early..to the point i looked outside before 7.00am..only to see a food delivery in this area...shockingly it was still there at 9.15 when we left...unattended..untouched in the sun Breakfast was lovely ..when it arrived..we had to go and find staff to place our order..the same at checkout..what was possibly a member of the house keeping staff had to go and find someone Could be so so good..but attention to detail and basic food safety is sorely lacking

I have been here numerous times now and there has never been an issue. They are always friendly and welcoming, accommodating all kinds dietary requirements. It's absolutely immaculate and the food is excellent quality. This time we visited the breakfast on the final day was exceptional which was made by Callum and we were served by Dan who couldn't do enough for us, he never stopped working. Highly recommended
