Hotel Kaiserhof Wesel

We had to change hotels last minute cause the 4 star place by the Rhine (not gonna name it) was just… way too hot. Like 35 degrees and no aircon? Couldn’t sleep, couldn’t even stay in the room during the day. So next morning we just gave up and checked into Hotel Kaiserhof in the centre of Wesel. And honestly, what a difference. We got a comfort room on the quiet side (facing the Turkey place I think?) with balcony and real aircon – not just a fan or one of those fake systems – proper cool air, saved our weekend, no joke. Paid 125 euros with breakfast, and that was absolutely fair for what we got. The breakfast was actually really good too, lots of choice and fresh stuff. Don’t even get me started on the price – cheaper than the other hotel and sooo much more comfortable. And better located too, you can just walk everywhere, shops, cafes, whatever. The restaurant downstairs is good as well, nice big terrace outside, we had dinner there once, was chill. Staff was friendly, not over the top but nice enough. Just can’t believe the other place had no AC in this heat, like how is that even allowed in a so called 4 star?? Anyway, if you’re coming to Wesel in summer, don’t fall for the river view hype – get yourself a room with proper aircon. Kaiserhof really saved us from a sweaty meltdown.

Ich war auf Radtour und habe eine Nacht im Hotel Kaiserhof in Wesel verbracht. Für Radreisende ideal: zentral gelegen, gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis und alles da, was man unterwegs so braucht. Gebucht hab ich direkt über das Hotel, das war günstiger als über *******. Für 85 Euro das Einzelzimmer bekommt man ein sauberes Zimmer mit bequemer Matratze, frischer Bettwäsche und einem ordentlichen Bad – völlig ausreichend, wenn man keinen Luxus erwartet, sondern einfach eine gute Unterkunft für eine Nacht (oder mehr) sucht. Super war, dass ich mein Fahrrad sicher in der Garage unterstellen konnte – dort gab’s sogar eine kleine Werkbank und Werkzeuge was ich richtig praktisch fand. Das Frühstück war ein echtes Highlight: Schon ab 6 Uhr, was für mich als Radfahrer top war – ich konnte früh starten und den Tag gut nutzen. Es gab eine schöne Auswahl mit u.a. acht verschiedenen Teesorten, frischem Rührei, Müsli, und vorallem: frische Brötchen vom Bäcker – keine aufgepackten. Das merkt man und schmeckt man auch. Obwohl das Hotel mitten im Zentrum liegt, war das Zimmer dank Doppelverglasung angenehm ruhig. Morgens hört man den Verkehr ein bisschen, aber das war für mich absolut im Rahmen – hat den Gesamteindruck nicht getrübt. Das neue Restaurant im Hotel ist modern und schick renoviert, das Essen war gut. Abends konnte ich noch gemütlich durch die Stadt schlendern und ein Eis essen – die Lage ist wirklich top. Fazit: Wer mit dem Rad unterwegs ist und gelegentlich auf einfache, aber gute Hotels zurückgreifft, ist hier genau richtig. Ich komm gern wieder! Ich schreibe sonst selten Bewertungen, aber ich freue mich immer, wenn andere Radfahrer ein gutes und praktisches Hotel finden – deshalb wollte ich meine Erfahrung hier mal teilen.

Das Hotel bietet einen guten Parkplatz, einen Supermarkt in der Nähe und ist zentral gelegen. Das Bett war in Ordnung und das Frühstücksbuffet ausgiebig. Das Badezimmer ist eher klein und das Interieur erinnert etwas an vergangene Zeiten.

Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are looking tired and need updating bu bathrooms are relatively new. The newly reopened restaurant offers a comprehensive range of menu options , is good vale and definitely worth a visit.

The location is super central, with all the necessary stores just a short walk away. The breakfast was fantastic, with a great variety of options. I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for convenience and comfort
