This was our second stay at SleepWell Apartments Ordynacka. Our first visit was in 2016. We booked the same room as last time – No. 12 for – this time for four nights. Here are the ‘UPSIDES’ we liked: • The room is absolutely wonderful. With its 2nd floor location and facing the court it is very quiet without street noise. The room is tastefully decorated offering a creative exclusive expression. The room is really large with a kitchenette. You get a true ‘feeling home’ experience. • The location in Ordynacka Street is perfect. In our view, there is no better location for a city break in Warsaw. • This time the fridge was filled with various non-alcoholic beverages and a box of the local Karmello luxury chocolates. This was a really nice surprise. Here are the ‘DOWNSIDES’ with room for improvement: • We had a cleaning issue in the room, with leftover food and packaging in a kitchenette drawer. We reported this potential health risk by e-mail as the reception was unmanned most of the time. It took the cleaning staff 26 hours and three e-mails to respond. • When responding (by phone) the attitude of the staff member was aggressive and the employee raised her voice in an unpleasant and hostile manner. We were not offered an apology, but the explanation, that ‘as we are having three hotels, we do not have the capacity to respond to such requests’. The following day, the kitchen drawer was finally cleaned. • Compared to our first stay, we experienced a very junior, inexperienced, and unengaged staff, which partly could be due to their limited English literacy. This happened both during our check-in, during the ‘cleaning incident’, and at the breakfast. • The room offers only four ‘anti-theft- hotel hangers without hooks. They cannot be disconnected so you must hang your clothes on the hangers whilst in the cupboard. An irritating small issue in an otherwise excellent room. Also, the bathroom offers only one towel bar – no hooks at all – for four towels and two bathrobes. A couple of hooks would have been nice. • Except for two wall-hanged soap dispensers, the room does not offer ‘free toiletries’ (e.g. a shower cap) as advertised on ***********. Be aware that the reception is unmanned most of the time, you will find a phone number posted at the reception desk, which does not exactly count as a 24-hour manned reception.
