Scuba Junkie Komodo Beach Resort

We stayed for a week in SJ Komodo Resort and we had a great time. It is located in a remote and beautiful location that we as Europeans always dream of. We had an ΅AC room΅ that we liked, he was big enough and very clean, what we did miss was hot water (Nowadays there are plenty of ways to get hot water I guess). The food in the evening was very good; always enough, varied and tasty. On dry days you were not forgotten and a good breakfast was prepared for you and a plate of food was ready for you for lunch. Breakfast and lunch on the boat during divingdays were always well taken care off and always more than enough. The atmosphere at the resort and on the boat was very relaxed. The staff are friendly and helpfull, there is a very nice working atmosphere and they also interact nicely with the visitors. And then of course where it's all about: diving. Everything around this is perfectly organized: a maximum of 4 divers per dive guide with divers of the same level. Always an extensive briefing before each dive. Also, as much attention as possible is paid to the fact that you visit different places during your stay, although we did have a day with the same reefs, but we were in the South, Middle and North during our 5 diving days. The boats are comfortable with both shaded and sunny spots. I do wonder if there is enough room for everyone during busy diving days, especially the part where you have to put on your diving gear is quite narrow. The diving gear that is included in the price is okay. It is a vandal-proof gear that is of course used heavily. In short: We had a great week at ScubaJunkie Komodo resort with amazing dives that were perfectly organized and that we will not forget so I only can recommend them; I don't see why not! :))

First the good news, the diving is outstanding and well run, the staff are lovely, very friendly and helpful and the food on and off the boat is good. However beware the Garden Cottages, they are tiny rooms not cottages, the bed takes up most of the space and there is no furniture except for one upside down V thing to hang clothes on, which had no hangers, and anyway it collapsed. The light is a bare bulb, there is no mosquito net, the window in the bathroom is open, no cover so insects could and did get in. Basically it's like a prison cell, except you can leave during the day to go diving.

it is my second time with SJ Komodo, (my 6th time with SJ altogether) and service is always impeccable ! Good management, responsive office, big help to organise transfers, exceptional local guides, always in good mood and interacting with the clients. The resort is quite relax atmosphere in low season (winter, 10 divers average per day) so great to dive and rest, it is very busy I heard in summer (30-40 divers). Great diving. Resort is simple but comfy and clean, great food.

We stayed 3 weeks. All you could ask for in a dedicated dive resort - great rooms, excellent meals, brilliant people, very well organized and a stunning dive environment. The facilities are very good as are the dive boats, crew and guides. The experience was that good that I am booking two trips here in FY2025. Great national park both above and below the ocean - Had many dive firsts here - reef sharks taking a scorpion fish and fighting over it; two moray eels fighting over a territory dispute; two squid hunting in and around a small flat rock; best dives with mantas (+20 including 3 mobulids/devil rays “flying” nose to tail with the mantas); reef octopuses entertaining us for 10 minutes on more than one occasion- reminding me of the film - My Octopus Teacher. I could go on and on - you get the point! Highly recommend Scuba Junkie Komodo.

Both in the office in Labuan Baja and at the resort. 🦈Small diving groups. 🦈 Superb accommodation, location and food. 🦈Organised, efficient and professionally run. 🦈Amazing dive sites and loads of marine life, including manta rays, turtles and reef sharks. 🦈 PADI Drift Diver certified. 🦈 New friends made and memories created. I would totally recommend diving with Scuba Junkie. I’m planning another trip with them again. Thank you!

Excellent. Dive boat crew, staff, guides, and chefs/resort staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Dive guide Youni /Yuni - dive with her. Excellent at spotting , and safety. An incident happened and she resolved it without hesitation and successfully - 5*. Her decision making is on point and highly recommended. Another highlight to Yannis to sort out an equipment issue. Improvements- the rooms. Appreciate is on an island far from Labuan, but ensure everything advertised is working. i.e AC. Double beds have a double mattress vs 2x single mattress.
