Aminess Senses Resort

The resort is located 30 minutes from Hvar main city. It’s more of a family type resort, so it can get a bit noisy with the kids running around. The room was nice and good view as well. The food was really amazing. We got the all inclusive deal and it was worth it. The stuff was very friendly and proactive

The surroundings are beautiful and relaxing. Unfortunately the same cannot be said of the actual hotel! Supposed to be a 4* hotel but this seemed to be seasonal. We knew we were going out of season but hotels should maintain standards ALL YEAR? In fairness, on arrival the hotel pool was a shambles and unready for use but within a few days the staff had made it look like a brand new area! It was welcoming and clean eventually and was used a couple times by us although not heated as suggested. The hotel itself was also unwelcoming. Friendly staff but seemed to lack any training in hospitality. Basic service and just seemed very unprofessional as no one wore really wore a uniform which meant you couldn't differentiate staff from visitors, and just were not helpful.Looking at previous reviews this doesn't seem to have improved. The hotel management lacked vision for this hotel as it holds so much potential which is being wasted and no thought process put into the hotel. For instance, a towel rail in the bathroom sits behind the door which i thought initially was a door stop!! not useful. The reception toilet area has windows at the sink areas which is nice for the view outside when washing hands but not when the staff put table and chairs outside so that people can see in!!! WHY would you do this !! I have included some photos. The hotel looks like it has had a major refurb (as it clearly isn't a new hotel), but there seems be no thought process behind how things that are done. Food wasn't the best. Breakfast was the better option but lunch and dinner didn't hold any appeal. We gave up eating lunch on the first day and ate outside for lunch most evenings. The dining room resembles a service station area. Coffee machine turned off after breakfast and not available at lunch/dinner in dining room. There is a room set aside for ALL INCLUSIVE guests for drinks which is accessible through the gym/Spa area! All inclusive cocktails are limited and uses the cheapest ingredients. If you want the better stuff you need to pay. We were told that taxi were the only option if we needed to go anywhere, Hvar town is about half hour away and costs aprox 100 Euros return. We did then find out that there is a perfectly good bus stop in Vbroska which is about 11euros return! On the plus side, there is a lovely relaxing cafe/bar area by the sea and beach area which was a bit of a life saver and is independent of the hotel so not included in any hotel deals. It is very welcoming and just a beautiful little bit of respite from the hotel. Perhaps the hotel should think of buying this from the owners at a decent price and use it as part of the hotel all inclusive deal. Lovely walking areas and beaches weren't busy and the water is just beautiful. I notice that only the better reviews get a response from the hotel chain so i will not hold my breathe for one after they see this! Just a shame that the hotel management don't make more of this hotel. Its settings deserve more.

Fantastic location, beautiful views and mostly clean. Heated pool = not heated! Rooms clean but small and no sound insulation as you feel the people next door are actually in your room when you can hear ‘everything’ in their bathroom. Food - below average standard, repetitive choices and very lukewarm. Restaurant staff clearly new for the season and untrained, lack of cutlery, plates and napkins when you needed fresh. Restaurant manager didn’t want our travelling group of 14 to sit together as he didn’t like it. Unable to obtain an iron due to safety reasons until our tour guide intervened. No late checkout, luggage room filled with bar overflow so luggage put behind reception as we refused to leave lying in reception in the 4.5 hours we had to wait. The only hard working person in the place was the man behind the bar who was rushed off his feet. Would I recommend- the area certainly, the hotel definitely not!
