Elva Hotel

We went to the hotel for the restaurant during a trip in Norway towards Voss. A brand new hotel, a cosy restaurant, with very nice food. Located at the lakeshore, the landscape is gorgeus. The hotel features outside spa and a pier where kayaks dock in.

An unusual modern eco hotel in a fabulous position on the lake side. Very friendly staff. Rooms were quite small with the beds set into an alcove with a huge window overlooking the water. It was a pity the room wasn't just a bit longer as the bed was only accessible on one side with no bedside tables. View was great though and dinner was good - three courses - you can choose from a meat, fish or vegetarian menu. Would have been good to have a choice of fish and meat rather than all one or another. Also we had to pay for dinner in advance which was a bit strange. There was no wine list so we had limited choice and no idea of cost. Breakfast was quite good - cold meats, fish, cheese and eggs cooked to order.

Lovely place. Slept like a baby. Then got up and went for a walk along the river before having a coffee while enjoying the view from the room. Here you can hide away and take in the Western Norwegian scenery. This place also takes the environment seriously
