Super 8 by Wyndham Vincennes

Horrible - room was nasty. Mushroom growing from around base of toilet because of all the moisture from toilet leaking. Ants were in soda from being on desk all night.

I travel over 100 days a year for my job and stay exclusively in Wyndham properties, so I review each one. The parking lot was clean and well lit on arrival. The pool is closed and apparently has been for some time. Check in went smoothly. My room, a queen single, was clean, with a comfortable bed and pillows. Of the stated amenities, some were in place, such as the microwave and small refrigerator, there was no coffee maker. The hotel has a luggage cart. My air conditioner/heater worked well. The television had a small selection of channels but a good picture. The breakfast area was clean and they kept bringing fresh items. The snack machine was empty, the soda machine is $1.50, and is cash only. Issues: no housekeeping on a stayover, no smoke detector in the room, one of the lights didn't work and the dresser drawer front literally came off in my hand. It's a clean enough hotel but appears to have maintenance issues.

Did not like this place, the back door to the motel was open to entry by anyone cause there was no latch on it. Anyone could walk right in. The window latch lock was not on the window, they just had a piece of wood to keep the window from opening.

Beyond Filthy and refused to make it right. I NEVER leave bad reviews bc I know things happen and places have bad days but it's a safety issue & since they refused to make it right or refund our stay I'm sharing so that others might be aware. We checked in around 5 brought up our bags & left to visit family & go out for dinner. The room was in rough shape (bathroom door warped, the hotel & room had a musty odor, and it was obvious the place wasn't swept because there were food remnants on the floor) but for the price we were willing to deal with it until we got the kids ready for bed, pulled back the sheets & found LITERAL POOP on the sheets.... that was the final straw. We packed our stuff, left and my husband went down to talk to the staff about them making it right. No refund, not even an offer to change the sheets.... I have never experienced anything like that and I used to work in hotels for 10 years.

We normally do not stay at Super 8 properties but didn't have a choice as other hotels were booked solid. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot I knew this was not going to be a good experience. There were dirty diapers in the parking lot and the window blinds were askew in multiple rooms. We booked three rooms and before we unpacked we inspected all three rooms, the first room smelled of heavy cigarette smoke even though it was a non-smoking room, the second room smelled of urine and the third room wasn't even ready even though we were at the proper check-in time. The indoor pool was so cloudy you couldn't see the bottom; not a good sign. Luckily, the manager gave us a refund. Do not stay at this property.

Do not make a reservation at the Super 8 by Wyndham in Vincennes, Indiana! In fact, do not make a reservation using the Super 8 by Wyndham website as there is no guarantee they will honor the rate of your confirmed reservation. My experience: In April 2023 I made a reservation for April 2023 (a full year in advance) at the Super 8 by Wyndham in Vincennes. The reservation was made via the Super 8 by Wyndham website for 2 rooms for 1 night at a rate of $76/night /room plus tax for a total of $172 for the stay. I promptly received a confirmation for my reservation. Everything’s settled and great right? Then in July 2023 (a full 12 weeks after my reservation was made, accepted, and confirmed) I received a call from Super 8 by Wyndham stating that they were no longer going to honor the rate for our confirmed reservation and that we had the option of accepting a new rate of $300/night/room plus tax (vs the prior $76) or canceling our rooms. In our case this is a 400% increase in room rate 12 weeks after the reservation was made, accepted, and confirmed! Our total bill for the 2 room 1 night stay would increase from a total of $172 to a total of $678. So, I guess Super 8 by Wyndham sees they have a big event in the area where price gouging is allowed and they throw their other customers under the bus! I find this unethical that Super 8 by Wyndham makes commitments as a business and then will not honor them. This is a reflection on the Wyndham corporation! Again, based on my experience do not make a reservation at the Super 8 by Wyndham in Vincennes! In fact, do not make any reservation using the Super 8 by Wyndham website as there is no guarantee they will honor the rate of your confirmed reservation.

Clean quiet and no issues, would go and stay there again if required too , great people at service and everything handed quick and easy. Alot of places to go eat walmart nearby and also the good is good nearby

This place is not safe. Please don’t stay here. Someone went into our room while we were gone to dinner and went through our things. The door doesn’t automatically latch or lock behind you. you have to use the inside lock. Or open the door enough to get your arm through slide the key card and shut the door quickly for it to lock. Someone jiggled our door knob and we ended up putting the mini fridge in front of the door. Then around 1:30am someone with an access key card tried opening our door to come into our room. But we had the mini fridge in front of it. The side security door is set to not lock or latch and anyone can come in and out of the building. I’m scared to think what would have happened had we not put something in front of the door. They had a key card to the room, so they would have to get that from an employee. They also charges us more than what I reserved on the app.

My girlfriend and I came down this weekend to stay because of a yearly trip to watch Vincennes University Men's Basketball with some friends from college. We decided to stay here because it was not only cheap but it was where the rest of our group was staying. During our stay, we had several experiences from staying here, most were not good. I would not stay here again and not recommend this hotel to others. What was good: 1. The price was really cheap. I was able to book a whole weekend for the price of one night at another hotel. 2. The location was really nice. It was in a nice location and has a nice pond on the backside of the hotel. What was bad: 1. The gentleman running the front desk during check was polite but would not honor any requests. I felt really brushed off. When I had booked our room, I had booked a one queen bed room. Upon checking in, we were told that we had a double queen bed room. I had expressed that we did not need two beds because it was just two of us and one bed would do. The gentleman told us "Well, you got upgraded" and did not attempt to give us a quick change. I had also asked for a room on the second floor and facing the back of the building because of what was stated in other reviews. He gave us a room on the first floor facing the back and never gave us an explanation why. I understand that not every request can be honored, but at least make some kind of attempt to work with the guests. ( The hotel was certainty not full as there were only a few cars at any point on the property.) 2. The rooms themselves looked nice but were in very rough shape. One example was the lock on the outside of the door needed a battery swap and had to be repaired as we checked in. A second was the plumbing, our toilet would flush any liquid but nothing else. Toilet paper would float down then come back up and sit until it would dissolve. I brought this up to the front desk and they said maintenance would look at it but nothing was done. 3. The blankets were paper thin and it was hard to keep warm. We had to take the blankets off the second bed to make our rest comfortable. Also, the mattresses are rock hard. 4. The cleanliness of the rooms was awful. The rooms were in need of a serious deep cleaning. I am going to list off all the issues that discovered in our room. A. One bed in our room had three cigarette burns on the outer comforter. B. Our shower curtain had dried blood on it. It also looked like a dab of blood was found on the ceiling in the shower. C. The chair that was in our room was needing either a deep clean or replaced with a new one. It literally looked like a child had drawn over it with it with either a crayon or a marker and housekeeping could not get it out. When the cushion was pulled back, a worm was found. D. One our beds had stains on the bedsheets. E. The tv was mounted to the wall which was nice. However, it had a severe tilt in it.
