Quinta do Vallado - Douro Wine Hotel

A visita foi ótima com o sol a brilhar ☀️! Tudo foi muito bem explicado e o guia foi bem animado. A prova dos vinhos também foi ótimo! As explicações sobre os 4 vinhos e um vinho do Porto foram bem interessantes. Adoramos e foi definitivamente uma experiência muito boa e agradável!

Difícil dar uma nome a esta avaliação. O quarto é excelente, ficamos na parte nova num quarto com uma enorme varanda com uma grande chaise longue e uma vista para uma extensa área verde do hotel. O café da manhã e o jantar são maravilhosos O atendimento de todos é primoroso, com destaque para a Ana do café da manhã, a Marina do bar da piscina e o primoroso sommelier do jantar Luís Ferreira, o qual busca entender o gosto de cada cliente para servir os vinhos mais adequados aos gostos individuais. Luís, você é incrível! Parabéns e votos de muito sucesso na sua carreira!

Primeira crítica - a distância que se tem que caminhar ao ar livre debaixo de muito sol e en subida. Segunda crítica - Na degustação são muito econômicos na quantidade de vinho servido (sei que é uma prova, mas realmente a quantidade é muito pequena)

Boa opção de hospedagem. Atendimento impecável, quarto amplo e muito confortável . Achei que o jantar deixou a desejar (apesar dos vinhos serem servidos a vontade durante todo o jantar). Café da manhã saboroso com opções de pedidos na mesas (ovos, panquecas, waffles, etc).

Quinta do Vallado was probably the best accommodation experience my wife and I have ever had. The location and facilities, as well as the option to choose from their fully restored original suites as well as the new hotel facility was amazing (we opted for the original suites and loved it). The staff were incredibly friendly and professional and ensured every aspect of our stay was perfect. The breakfast buffet each morning was amazing, and I highly recommend anyone dines with Vallado for dinner at least one night during their stay; their food is amazing. Also can’t beat the immediate access to the vineyard and their products as well. My wife and I certainly plan to return; it was truly an unforgettable experience!

Amazing experience! Amazing guide! "Rita" was a diferential for the experience. Comiited, showed a lot of knowledge. Incredible landscape, location, surroundings and staff. tasting was veru interesting and enjoyable... totally recomend

Amazing place and people!!! My wife and I have booked the Quinta do Vallado Casa do Lago for 2 nights. After driving almost 300 miles we arrived at the Hotel around 7PM. At the wrong Hotel!!!! Yes! They have two properties, 2 hours away one from another!!!! And we were not at the one we booked... But José and his director (unfortunately I didn't get his name) were amazing and got us a room at the Quinta do Vallado for the first night and we drove next day to Casa do Lago (also highly recommended!!!). I've traveled all around the world and I can say I've never seen an organization so client oriented as Quinta do Vallado. I don't think any other hospitality company in the planet would treat us they way they did!!! Thank you so much!!! Muito obrigado!!!

This was a very enjoyable experience in a wonderful location. The guide was knowledgeable and welcoming, and the five wines that we got to taste were all very good. The trip included a both look at the vines, a walk round the winery and inside the building where trodding etc. takes place, as well as a VR experience on how wines are made. The audio for this part could have been better.

We were heading back from Lisbon to Santander and we had driven through the Douro valley on our way down and it looked beautiful. Co-incidentally, I had spotted an article in one of the English papers which rates this place at the top of the pile. Booked for our night at a cost of approx £370 for B&B in a room in the old house. (Only option and slightly cheaper). The new building did sound more advantageous on paper. Found the place on the outskirts of a beautiful village. Free car parking, lift, steps and ramp up to the main level. There is a small reception cabin at car park level. Did check in whilst drinking a delicious glass of their own chilled white port. (I have ordered some since returning to UK). These first people were unbelievably helpful and welcoming. Decided to get luggage and head up to the hotel. The lift is the slowest price if mechanical engineering I have ever used. It and is eventually got to the hotel level where we were met by the concierge who showed us where our room would be, the layout of the public area and the “trust” bar. Also the terrace where dinner would be served. Room was not ready so we retreated to terrace to have a snack (and a glass of wine). Lunch was delicious preceded by a tray of bread olives toasted almonds and oils. (All from their farm). After lunch went to our room which opened onto another terrace - the room was simple elegant and cool with wooden shuttered French patio doors. In the room there was a bottle of their reserva wine and a coffee table book as a gift. There was also a bottle of their white port and some tonic to make a popular cocktail. There was also a minibar. We wandered to the pool after lunch which was secluded but had its own small pool bar. I sat under an orange tree and sipped my wine. It was total bliss and despite the other 24 guests almost completely private. We noticed a chef in the vegetable garden selecting produce and herbs Had a tour of the winery with the lovely Jennifer and following a delicious wine tasting came away with a sample bott of the ABF 1888 very old port. Dinner was a small menu – 3 main choices, starter and dessert with some amuse bouche and some more amazing breads and oils. This was wine paired, there was a standard option at €55 and a premium option at €90 (including food). The food was excellent, and we were looked after by the lovely Luis who ensured we never wanted for anything. Slept like a baby - our one regret is we were leaving the next morning. All of the team went out of their way to ensure we had an excellent time and nothing was any trouble. Special shout out to “Yvonne”; you know who you are!!!
