My daughter (five years old) and I checked in. We fell asleep watching tv. Around 8:30pm I began to hear a weird noise; after a minute or two I got up, immediately called my husband who was set to arrive shortly, and when I came out of the room I saw a man standing at the doorway. I immediately told him to get out of my room and asked why he had been there and how he got in. My husband heard me through the phone telling this man to get out and cane to confront him and help us. NOTE! I locked the door and used the latch to secure the door. This man had NO UNIFORM OR NAME TAG and never responded to my question. He only told me I was in the wrong room. He said I was supposed to be in room 423 not room 425 (if this was the case someone should’ve called from the front desk to confirm someone was in the room and to make the correction over the phone). I noticed the tools he used to get into my room and asked him again why he was there. I’m in full panic now as he obviously came with the intentions to get into our room. He said he was the property managers brother and thought there was a “latch issue”. My husband, rightfully upset as he believed we were in serious danger, comes running up the stairs to ask the man why he broke into our room. The man called the “manager” who literally popped out of the bushes and whom also was NOT IN UNIFORM NOR HAD A NAME TAG. We’re clearly upset and the “manager” only cared that my husband was cursing in front of our daughter and had no intentions of taking responsibility nor offering any real resolution other than saying he would give us a full refund; I have yet to see the refund and I have no intention of speaking to this “manager” again. The “manager” also took issue with my husband telling them that things could’ve been completely different had he been in the hotel room with us when his “employee” broke in. ”Manager” took it as threat his “employee”; which was not the case and further convincing us that he had no interest in our safety and quickly got out of there. I’d like to add that I wasn’t quiet and my husband definió tu wasn’t quiet. Not a soul appeared from the other rooms. Feels like my daughter and I were put in the back of the hotel where no one could hear us. This was one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. I have not been able to sleep, picturing the man standing at our doorway. Having the worst thoughts cross my mind in the moment. Telling myself I would have to die fighting to protect my daughter. Do not stay here!
