Varkala Beach lies on out skirt of 51 km north of Trivandrum Dist. and 31 km south of Kollam Dist.,Kerala named as The God's own country. A dip in the holly water at this beach is believed to purge the body of Impurities and the Soul of all sins, hence the name Papanasam beach. Varkala beach is the only place in South Kerala where cliffs are found adjacent to the Arabian sea which attracts the visitors both for leisure as well as for religious seasons. The beautiful sandy beach is a heaven for sunbathing and swimming. The evening views of the sunset are worth lingering over. The cliff top is an ideal place to watch the spectacular sunset, so as from the balconies of Palan Beach Resort. Palan Beach Resort is charming ocean front resort situated right on the north cliff of Varkala beach. I really appreciate that the hotel is not only cosy and quiet, but also takes care of aesthetic. Around reception, at the corridor and in the rooms you will find lots of pretty items and photographs. Jute elements add warmth to the ambience, I loved it. Manager was very professional and customer oriented. Staff was helpful and attentive. Hotel is clean, I can really recommend this place. I've stayed in quite a few places in Varkala and this one is the best so far, keeping in mind price, quality and location. View from rooms is amazing, you can stare at the sea and relax at the balcony. Pressure in shower is great - having long hair that's what I pay attention for. We extended our stay as it was great. Thank you for lovely stay!

Went to this resort with my husband and son . Nice host . But missed the bedtime tea as they do not serve food . Very much near the cliff . Every morning enjoyed the sea . I wish they start a small kitchen too .
