Beautiful scenery and the service is beyond compare. Don’t listen to the other haters who haven’t really experienced this for what it’s worth. LITERALLY every person who works here works directly for you, and goes above and beyond to make sure YOU are taken care of. The food is delicious, the water is warm, the views are breathtaking, the sun is intense, and it’s very quiet in the bungalow’s. Only 1 tip… “The Traditional Sunset Fishing:” For most westerners who fish in the sea from a boat, we typically use fishing rods, tackle, weights, live bait, various gear for the outfit, etc. HERE, this type of charter is not the case. Their version of traditional fishing is by using a spool of about 150 ft. of line with live bait and a small weight, dropping it off the side of the boat until the weight hits the bottom, and stripping the line back in with your hands. No reels, no rods. It’s a little nerve racking since you’re fishing for grouper and snapper, and if you land a very large fish you might be in trouble. I know not to wrap 25 lbs. test around my hand or wrist, but others who don’t know may cut or injure themselves at a sizable **** from 100 ft. down. No life jackets, although I’m sure they were available, but no requirements to wear one either. If the current is fast on the Dhoni, you’re going to rock back and forth pretty aggressively and it’ll be hard moving from the back to the front of the vessel. If you’re in a larger group, there will be balls of unwrapped line (from stripping it all back in) all over the deck, so watch your feet and be careful not to get wrapped up in someone else’s line. You’ll all be fishing from one side of the boat because of the direction of the current. Nonetheless, it wasn’t for us. On the flip side we’ve decided to go back to square one and try the actual deep sea fishing charter. Looks much more like what you may expect if you’ve ever been fishing several miles off the coast.
