El Silencio Lodge & Spa Costa Rica

El Silencio Lodge & Spa is an excellent retreat for a solo traveler. 5 star treatment across the board. The staff were welcoming and helpful. They took care of my every need. This property offered everything from food, drinks, spa, outdoor experiences, complimentary amenities and wellness activities all on-site. I felt safe and secure in this luxury environment that far exceeded my expectations. Best foodie experience ever!

This was our third time back, and it was just as enchanting as out first! The staff is beyond amazing- so helpful and friendly. The scenery is as gorgeous as the amenities. The food is incredibly fresh and delicious (and so many healthy options!). We loved the Mango Ritual couples massage at the spa. Morning yoga is wonderful, and the sound healing is an unparalleled experience!

I highly recommend El Silencio. Everything about our five-night experience there was top-notch. The staff, the surroundings, the amenities and the food. Our deluxe cabin was just perfect. We enjoyed many afternoons bird-watching from our amazing deck. The hiking trails are lovely and we recommend the morning birding tour. We also took the mountain bikes off property which we thoroughly enjoyed. The grounds are beautiful and there is plenty to do whether you enjoy nature or prefer to relax at the Spa. The Bar is gorgeous and the service equal. I can't say enough about the food but rated that separately. You can't go wrong by staying at El Silencio! Keep in mind it is a rain forest so it can be cooler than the rest of Costa Rica (we actually liked that!)

Property was beautiful and quiet. The drive up definitely had a few narrow and steep parts. You will need a 4 wheel drive car. The staff was warm and friendly. My only complaint was how difficult it was to make an appointment for the spa for a massage before my trip. I submitted through the contact form online and never heard anything. On the fourth day, I found the guest relations email and contacted them to book a service. I wasn't sure if I would hear back so I also messaged them on their WhatsApp chat. I heard back after 48 hours to my email inquiry. I also asked about any additional information I could provide to expedite my check in. They asked for the passport copy of me and my friends who were staying which I provided. However, upon our arrival after our long journey I asked about our information we had sent over as we were being asked to provide our passport, etc again. I spoke directly with Maria Fernando who I had been comminicating with by email and she said I must have her confused with someone else on the property. I asked how many others on the property had the same name as she did.

Spitzenklasse. Wir haben unsere Costa Rica Ferien mit ein paar Tagen im El Silencio begonnen - beste Entscheidung. Die Anlage ist wunderschön, genial mit Kindern. Die Natur lässt sich auf kleinen, sehr liebevoll angelegten Pfaden erkunden. Wir wohnten in einer kleinen Villa mit Jacuzzi, worin wir uns immer wieder wärmen konnten. Jeden Tag stehen frisch gefüllte Mineralwasserflaschen und Kekse bereit - kleine Details, die einen grossen Unterschied machen. Staff alle sehr freundlich, Frühstück ein Traum.

We enjoyed two nights at El Silencio. Loved our villa with a private jacuzzi and the fact that it was set in the woods with an easy walk to the restaurant, etc. If you did not feel like walking someone would come in a buggy to collect you. We swam in the heated outdoor pool & did a yoga session which was fab and our Guide to the waterfalls was excellent. Breakfast was delicious but we felt the evening dining room was very formal & quite expensive - our first night was a special occasion so did not matter. Our second night we (you can walk) were driven into the village for a pizza! We would certainly recommend a visit to El Silencio and would happily return as we felt there was a lot more to see and do.
