Hotel Casa Higueras

Un hotel que esta en la más alta categoría. Una super linda y muy agradable estadía, no solo porque se encuentra en uno de los cerros más emblemáticos y patrimoniales de Valparaíso, sino que el hotel en sí es una experiencia. Ofrece una estadía soberbia, resguardando con clase cada detalle. Absolutamente recomendable.

Beautiful hotel with lovely rooms and a fabulous view. The restaurant, Maralegre, had wonderful food and a stunning view on the terrace. Delicious for breakfast and for dinner. The staff at the front desk and the restaurant were terrific. They made arrangements for our transfer from the Santiago airport and also for a transfer to the Santiago airport, with a stop for a winery tour on the way. In addition, they set up a private guide to take us around Valparaiso. Felipe and his driver, Carlos, were terrific.

Bad management, Expensive, Unsafe. THIS SHOULD NOT BE A VIP Hotel. They did not upgrade our room even though rooms were available. They received our email 6 months before but did not acknowledge or respond. At check-in, they said they had a note and it had been actioned. In fact the room was the most basic, with a terrible view and no balcony or patio. When I questioned this, the receptionist said she would speak to a manager. We left to visit the town and when we returned, nothing had been done. The new receptionist said the manager needed an email from *******. This has never been the case at other hotels. The room was of poor quality with no seating and various marks and scratches on walls and floor. The rug looked dirty and worn, similar to other parts of the hotel. The windows didn't open wide enough and the view was pretty poor. Our welcome gift was sent on day 2. The breakfast was ok for the price of the hotel. However, I was given ham on a vegetarian item and again at our boxed breakfast. There were minor gestures like paying for our taxi to the bus station but it was too little too late. The location felt unsafe as it was down a dead end road. STAY ELSEWHERE FOR A LOT LESS
