Hotel Castille

It was a nice stay in the centre of Valetta.

Location is perfect for Valletta. Near the bus station, Parking, and the lift from Buracca Gardens to get the boat to Birgu the 3 cities. Staff are nice and friendly . Breakfast is good but the whole place needs refurbishment. Rust coming from the bathroom taps.

The location is great, but that is the only thing this hotel has going for it. The rooms look like a convent from the 1960s but with less light and furniture from that era. However, that is motivating to get out and see all of the captivating sights just outside the hotel steps. I went down to the front desk at 9:45 to inquire about laundry service, and they said I had already missed breakfast (it ends at 9:30). They also don't offer laundry service, and so I had to spend part of the day doing laundry. There is lots of room for improvement in this hotel, but the location is great.

If you are looking for a great hotel in a five star location which is spotlessly clean, full of character and excellent value for money then head to Hotel Castille. The views from the rooftop restaurant where the buffet breakfast is served are second to none. Not everything works efficiently but that’s part of its charm.

Cet hôtel est idéalement situé à l'entrée du centre historique de La Valette et à 10 minutes à pied de la gare routière. Les chambres mériteraient un rafraichissement. La mienne était assez petite, surtout le cabinet de toilette et donnait sur la rue sans double vitrage, un peu bruyante donc. Le petit déjeuner est correct sans plus. Toutefois, les chambres sont bien équipées et la literie est correcte.

Posizione comodissima. Vista della piazza spettacolare sia dalla finestra della stanza sia dalla terrazza delle colazioni. Ambiente vecchiotto e nell'insieme trasandato e non particolarmente pulito. La nostra camera aveva un odore sgradevole entrando. Il bagno privato era dotato di vasca da bagno con tenda per lavarsi, ma non di un miscelatore per mantenere costante la temperatura dell'acqua. Il lavabo invece aveva il miscelatore. C'erano un indispensabile condizionatore (piuttosto rumoroso con una griglia rovinata ed un termostato mai visto prima) che ci ha fatto venire dei dubbi per la nostra salute, una piccola cassaforte che dopo qualche utilizzo non si chiudeva più e che non abbiamo resettato visto il nostro breve soggiorno, il frigorifero per rinfrescare le bevande. Nella nostra prenotazione era compresa la colazione, ma noi, abituati a prendere qualcosa di dolce, abbiamo dovuto accontentarci di pane e marmellata o crema spalmabile alla nocciola. Non abbiamo mai visto una brioche, neppure confezionata. Forse avremmo dovuto chiedere, sta di fatto che nessuno comunque ci ha dato spiegazioni. Erano presenti anche diversi tipi di pane, i cereali, della frutta, dello yogurt sfuso, prosciutto e formaggio, oltre a cibi caldi che non abbiamo preso in considerazione appena alzati. Presente anche un distributore di acqua e succhi, nonché una macchinetta per le bevande calde. Nel complesso ci siamo trovati bene, i receptionist in genere parlano anche l'italiano e sono tutti molto gentili. Ci spiace che il tutto non sia ben curato e pulito perché comunque ci sono diversi punti a favore di questo hotel.
