Hotel Castille

It was a nice stay in the centre of Valetta.

An ancient hotel located in a central square near the bus terminal, saluting barttery and the old town. Good breakfast on the 5th floor with a view of the city, kind and helpful staff, clean and quiet rooms. If you like buildings with history, then this is the right one!

Disappointing second time round. I stayed here in April last year and for less money had a fabulous room, with excellent views. This time the room I was given was exceptionally small and pokey. It was not particularly comfortable and overlooked a side street. Worth nothing that the hotel does not offer tea/coffee making facilities and the one 'plastic' bottle of water was not replenished each day, unlike last time. On the plus side, the breakfast was worth the extra - though it is a bit of a free for all experience and serve yourself. However, the restaurant, does not serve evening meals as advertised. The hotel is situated in a very central location with easy access to local resaurants, the harbour and surrounding area.

Have see a number of negative reviews and thought I would give an honest opinion of the place stayed 26 feb to 2 March 2025. Previous stay July 2022. Location can’t be beaten for the price your paying you are close to all attractions in central Valletta including bus terminus 5/5 Hotel- this is a heritage building and therefore there are some defects in the rooms and my single bedroom had small amount of damp and could have done with a repaint throughout. But everything worked perfectly in room the mattress is soft for me but still able to have good sleep. Noisy outside till around 10 pm then very quiet. 4/5 Breakfast consists of hot and continental offerings which there is plenty of choice and good quality. Including the fabulous view from the 5 th floor terrace restaurant. 5/5 Staff- very friendly and helpful 5/5 Price- had increased from 2022 rate. 4/5

Camere datate da rivedere ma con un loro particolare fascino e comunque molto ampie, bagno no comment, poche prese di corrente e aria condizionata poco gestibile, però tutto viene compensato da una vista dalla camera spettacolare su tutta la Valletta e dalla Fantastica terrazza ristorante panoramica e molto importante la Posizione Top in pieno centro.

The location is great, but that is the only thing this hotel has going for it. The rooms look like a convent from the 1960s but with less light and furniture from that era. However, that is motivating to get out and see all of the captivating sights just outside the hotel steps. I went down to the front desk at 9:45 to inquire about laundry service, and they said I had already missed breakfast (it ends at 9:30). They also don't offer laundry service, and so I had to spend part of the day doing laundry. There is lots of room for improvement in this hotel, but the location is great.
