I was reticent to use a Premier Inn again, after a not entirely terrific experience at their Hastings/St. Leonards on Sea Hotel last year. However, necessity dictated it was to be a Premier Inn and so off I went. Handily located for both Uxbridge town centre and Heathrow Airport, this hotel has gone a long way to repairing the damage done by my last Premier Inn experience. For a start, unlike at Hastings/St. Leonards on Sea, the car park was not designed with Snow White and the Seven Dwarves in mind. Instead, it was large and accomodating. I asked to be placed on the top floor (this hotel only has two floors) as I cannot abide people above me. Whilst the lovely gentleman on reception was unable to accommodate this request, he did assure me that my room was in the quiet part of the hotel, whilst also allying my fears that I would have to hear the general public by telling me the vast majority of residents were in town on business, and were not known for the noise and disruption caused by holiday makers. I'm elaborating slightly, but that is th gist of our conversation, and boy was he right! It was without doubt the quietest hotel I have ever known. It was sublime. I could quite easily have fooled myself into thinking I was the only one staying there, when in fact I knew it to be all but fully booked. The room was clean and comfortable with all the usual accompaniments one would expect from a budget hotel. The TV was a bit of a disappointment though, as there were very few channels pre-programmed, and a lot of those that were Arabic channels that I couldn't have any less interest in watching if I tried. No matter though, I was there to sleep, not to watch Arabic telly, and the bed and pillows ensured I had a really good night's sleep. I'm still a Travelodge man, but Premier Inn, thanks to their Uxbridge Hotel, have certainly redeemed themselves.
