Whale Tail Hotel

The pool was lovely. Our room was wonderful; greatly appreciated the AC since the humidity was unbearable for too long for this Canadian family! The staff were ever so helpful and friendly providing popcorn to our daughters who were hanging with fellow travellers and answers to all our questions. Got to see lots of birds and butterflies on the property including a magical few seconds to watching the blue morpho circle the property and fly over my head. Most people had a car that were staying here at the same time as us which would have been handy to drive to nearby beaches. We got a ride with a fellow traveller to Whale's Tail beach. The nearby waterfall was really great and refreshing and not hard to find. More humidity and rain than we were expected at the very end of December so unfortunately left a couple of days early to go to cooler air of San Jose. The staff were so accommodating in providing a refund for those 2 nights as well as the Corcovado Trip we had to cancel as well (due to illness) :( :(.

This was my first time staying at a hostel, and I felt so good about my experience! There was so much available around the property, I felt so taken care of during my stay. Breakfast each day was delicious and fresh, and the brewery next store attached to the property was also serving amazing meals! I loved how the property was so close to the city center, so I was able to walk to all of the spots I frequently needed to visit. The location is prime time, and the rooms are clean and well taken care of. If you are looking for a spot that is super safe, this is it!

Great Hotel, nice rooms, good pricing, friendly staff, nice food, easy access, excellent value all round & well located for nearby attractions, bird & wildlife nearby together with the famous Whale Tail beach, totally recommended
