Six Senses Southern Dunes

My wife and I spent two weeks in Saudi, spending the last 3 days at Six Senses Southern Dunes. After a busy holiday it was nice to relax in a stunning location like this. We had the most amazing experience, the hospitality we received was incredible. We really enjoyed the food in the Bariya restaurant where we had breakfast, the staff were lovely. A lot of our time was spent at the pool area where the staff were extremely attentive, bringing us water, cold towels and fruit. The food at the pool restaurant was also excellent. Mohammed and the staff here really looked after us. A wonderful stay in a wonderful location like this, thankyou.

Die ganze Anlage strahlt Ruhe aus. Man ist weit abgelegen von jeglichem Lärm (akustisch und optisch). Alles ist in sanften Farbtönen gehalten, das Licht ist gedämpft, die Musik angenehm, die Räume weitläufig. Der Nachhaltigkeitsgedanke ist durchweg wahrnehmbar. Es hat uns so gut gefallen, dass wir eine Nacht verlängert haben. Das gesamte Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, aber nicht so übertrieben, wie in einigen anderen Hotels dieser Klasse auf der arabischen Halbinsel. Es wirkt alles sehr familiär und warm. Unser Guest Manager Rodolfo hat sich hervorragend um uns gekümmert. Für uns ein riesiger Vorteil: wir waren im Ramadan fast allein da und generell bekommt man wenig von anderen Gästen mit - selbst wenn laute Kinder da wären, könnte man die Ruhe also wirklich genießen. Die Restaurants bieten insgesamt eine sehr hohe Qualität, ein hohes Gesundheits- und Nachhaltigkeitsbewusstsein und entsprechend gibt es sehr viele vegane Optionen. Auch hier war das Personal sehr warmherzig, aufmerksam und gesprächig. Gym und Spa sind gut ausgestattet und ebenfalls sehr schön.

We have stayed at many luxury hotels all over the world, for example in around 20 Four Seasons hotels. Saudi is still a bit of a undiscovered tourist spot and that means that you can find spectacular hotels like this at a much cheaper price than they are worth. The setting in the dunes is mesmerising, very peaceful, and for a person coming from Europe...it's the kind of landscape that you never see. We live in Dubai but the desert we have seen in Dubai is nowhere near as beautiful. We recommend hiking in the dunes. The interior design of the rooms is very tasteful and premium, and the hotel buildings and "Oasis" area are other-worldly. The service was excellent, from the breakfast and dinner staff, to chef Aisha, and the pastry chef. We had excellent massages from Nam. Just many different positive experiences with various staff members. It was surprising to find such good food, a fully-equipped gym, and many other top things in such a remote location. We will book to come back again next year!

Stunning architectural designs that blend seamlessly with the beautiful desert backdrop. The service was just as stunning with a personal concierge that attends to your every need such as care rides at the call or text and reservations at the amazing restaurant that overlooks the sand dunes and rocky Rocky Mountains in order to view the magnificent desert sunset that lasted almost an hour!

We stayed in a 1 Bed Pool Villa for a few nights on our Saudi Arabia trip and unfortunately while there was much to enjoy about the experience, the service standards were below other Six Senses and similar luxury resorts we have visited. The positives: * Stunning setting in the wadi/dunes/mountains * Well-appointed rooms and beautiful architecture of the property, particularly the covered oasis * A good balance between healthy/local/international favourite dining options. The negatives: * This is the first ＞USD1,000/night property I visited where there wasn't as much as a sight of senior management and this lack of visibility shows with service lapses. * Relative to the St. Regis we also stayed at during the trip, the staffing levels were considerably lower which impacted the experience. * The main heated pool was cold particularly in the windy weather. We and I heard other guests suggested this was the case but no one picked up on it. No surprise the only people braving the pool were children and their freezing parents! * Despite fewer than 20 rooms being occupied on some of the days (my guess) we had to wait for a buggy for 10-15 minutes despite resort being compact and easy to drive around in less than 3 minutes. When I complained about it, I was asked to show understanding of everyone being incredibly busy serving such a small number of guests. The staffing, not the number of guests is the obvious problem. * I have asked on multiple occasions whether a family bike can be provided to us (other SS properties we have visited tended to have one) but it was only provided after I have complained on multiple occasion about the buggy waiting times. The bike provided had a failed break with only one working which made it a little more thrilling to ride the beast of a bike. * I had to request a confirmation of departure transfer the evening before because no one contacted me about it despite providing the details prior to arrival. Turns out there wasn't one booked. I twice requested car seats for our two children but the car came with none in sight (despite there being two seats as requested on arrival transfer). * I was appalled when not a single team member came to see us off for our departure. Once I paid the bill, we were left to find our transfer car without so much as a "thank you for staying with us". I guess I should be thankful that I didn't have to put the suitcases in the trunk myself.

Everything in the place is perfect .. starting from the entrance till the villa The stuff were super friendly and helpful specially mathayil .. the workshop of making soap was beautiful and the sunset is amazing..I like the idea of using all sustainable materials in everywhere
