We are staying in UB for 6 weeks and originally had a reservation at the Chinggis Khaan Hotel. You can refer to my review of that hotel but overall it was an unpleasant experience so we moved into the UB Hotel. Currently they are doing renovation outside so it is not the prettiest but you can see how nice it will look once they are finished. Now I don't know what all the rooms in this hotel are like but we are staying in a Deluxe King room which is a corner room; like a suite. The bedroom area is very large with tons of light from the windows, flat screen TV and desk. The other room has a small sofa, 2 side chairs and coffee table. There is a lot of closet space with hangers in the foyer area which is nice. There is no WIFI in the rooms but if you desperately need it in your room you can always go to IT World and buy an inexpensive router for $30US. The hallways are clean and have nice photos of Mongolian history. The front desk has been helpful when I have asked them questions or had them call for taxis. The main perk is the location; you are in the heart of the city center. Next to Central Tower and 1 block to the Sukhbaatar Square. There are many restaurants within walking distance too. They have laundry service in the hotel but like any hotel it is expensive. If you need to get laundry down and don't mind walking, you can drop off your clothes at Metro Express in the State Dept. Store (1st floor). The hotel also has a very nice cafe/bar in the lobby where they have WIFI and great coffee. The breakfast is sufficient. They have an egg station, breads, yogurts, fruit, juices and then some hot food that is anything from mini sausages to vegetable stir-fry. Properly the biggest con, for me, is their fitness area. It is very run down! Although properly overpriced, it is a nice hotel.
