I booked my daughter’s wedding at Taj Aravali from 16–18 April. For this, around 8 of our family members arrived a day earlier, on 15th afternoon, to oversee the arrangements—and we had even paid extra for this additional day. After a 5-hour drive from Jodhpur, we reached the hotel around 2 PM and went straight to the restaurant for some food. Once we finished, the staff did not bring us a bill. We assumed, considering we are the bride’s family and had already made a substantial payment for the wedding booking, that it might be a gesture of courtesy from Taj. To our shock, at 11:30 PM, someone came knocking on our door while we were asleep, asking us to settle the afternoon bill. We found this extremely unprofessional, especially from a hotel that’s supposed to represent world-class hospitality. This was a very disappointing and uncomfortable experience during what should have been a joyous occasion. I strongly do not recommend hosting any wedding or special event at Taj Aravali. We expected dignity and grace—sadly, we experienced neither.
