Amet Haveli - A Heritage Hotel Udaipur

From the moment I arrived, Amet Haveli made me feel truly special. The hospitality was impeccable, and my 2-year-old daughter received warm and attentive care from the staff. The team is not only highly professional but also genuinely helpful, ensuring a seamless and comfortable stay. I booked a lake-facing suite on the ground floor, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. The serene ambiance, coupled with breathtaking views, made it a perfect retreat. A hidden gem within the property is the Baadi Mahal—one of only three in Udaipur. Be sure to ask the reception about it for a unique glimpse into history. Overall, Amet Haveli offers a rare combination of heritage charm, top-notch service, and a peaceful lakeside escape. Highly recommended!

Great hotel on the lake side. We had a lake view room which was was clean and had a great view of the city palace. The outdoor restaurant had great views of the lake and was Definitely a bit with us and also the locals in the city. We would return to this hotel if the opportunity arises.

Based on its location, close to the old city, its sights, shops, restaurants, amazing views from our rooms across the lakes this hotel deserves a 5stat plus rating. However and sadly it loses this because of the quality and service provided by tje restaurant On arrival we were informed that on busy days it operates two sittings a night.7 and 9 pm. The end result is that the restaurant is full at 7pm. Diners then have to wait for a long time even to get a menu, then drinks, then placing their food order ,finally waiting for the food. Food that was not worth waiting for.. We saw other diners just give up and leave the restaurant. This was our sixth time in India, we have eaten in every type of restaurant, street stalls etc. The dishes served where without doubt the worst we have ever had, overcooked and tasteless.. The attitude of the servers also needs attention . Not that of the younger staff members but that of the older so called senior staff. Whose priority seems to be not service but to remind diners that " service charge " is not included when presenting the bill. The hotel is undergoing some building work that did not inconvenience us Chose the Amet for its location but not its restaurant.

My wife and I spent three nights here en route from Jaipur to Cochin. After a long journey to arrive at this oasis on shores of lake Pichola was like a dream. We had a very comfortable room with a lake side view and every evening dined in their restaurant with equally fantastic views particularly in the evening. The bustling old town is easily accessible in a 10 to 15 minute walk via a bridge. You then realise that the hotel and other shops and buildings are in fact on an island! The service at the hotel was excellent!

Amet haveli is a heritage lake view hotel built between 1734-1752 A.D. It has the old world charm about it ***** with modern amenities. It offers one of the best views of Lake Pichola in Udaipur, with the city palace on one side and the Lake Palace on the other. The location is also very convenient as you need to just crossover a footbridge to reach the old city & its attractions which is about 10 minutes away. We had booked a lake facing super deluxe room since that was the only room available on our travel dates, but we were not disappointed since it was a beautiful, spacious corner room with lake view on all sides. They have limited rooms so I suggest to plan in advance. The dining experience at their Ambrai restaurant is also top notch with excellent cuisine and service. However, it’s quite busy and very popular among locals too so would advise to reserve in advance. We would also like to mention Sneha & Bharat who made our stay extra special.
