The two gentlemen on reception who are either the owners or managers, are not really suitable for front of house. The hotel had been nicely modernised inside. The rooms ( I think ours were basic ) were small, but clean . The pillows were so hard it was like sleeping with your neck on a kerb. The pool area was lovely, towels were available. The food. Breakfast was fine, the evening meal was another story. We made the mistake on the first night of having a drink before our meal, going into the dining room at about 8.15. The room was empty and very little food left. The following nights we went earlier, but the food was very poor. Dishes that you were not sure what they were, a tray of pasta in a tomato sauce, but overall, very unappetizing. Dessert was lucky of their was any, or frozen centre in the cake. The waiting staff were in need of some training, clearing one or two plates here and there, they were vey inefficient The saving grace of this hotel is Angela who worked in the bar/pool bar. She was enthusiastic, efficient, funny, chatty learning english as she went along, she is an asset to the hotel. The final unbelievable moment was paying our bar bill They didn't take cards ! A hotel of this size didn't have a card reader. we were told this information was in the room in the room information booklet in the room. ( we obviously hadn't read this ). In this day and age it was incredible that a hotel of this size cannot take card payments.
