Hotel Milano

We are still at the hotel now (10 day break). Half board as we like to wander, fantastic location, food ok, but two major off putting concerns are: generally other than the cleaner, the staff do not interact with us at all even when clearing plates. Not had this experience in any other hotel in the world. And despite juice and hot drinks being included at breakfast, at dinner there are no drinks included at all, and they charge for water and won’t even provide tap water. A few other guests said they bring their own water so we did the same. Total shame, and as a direct result we decided not to spend a penny in the hotel after day one on any dinner wine, pool drinks, and the only tip will be going to the cleaner. Also a beer in the hotel is 7.5 euros, also available for 97c in the supermarket 300 yards away! Had water been included and alcohol prices reasonable, I dare say we would have spent and tipped merrily in the hotel like any other year. This year this was all spent outside the hotel.

Excellent location to explore Lake Garda Situated right on Marina and next to ferry terminal and bus stop. Fantastic balcony views to sit back and relax. Hotel and poolside extremely clean and staff very helpful and accommodating Beautiful promenade around Marina and peninsula to walk around, supermarket very close by and small amount of restaurants just outside hotel if you fancying eating out Recommendations/hints - 1 - Take 4 plug extension cable and European plug to charge devices 2 - Go early to organise ferry terminal tickets and start early in morning. Ferry stop early evening 3 - download Rome2Rio app to work out travel routes 4 - pool towels provided 5 - John (TUI rep) very helpful with advice 5 - Ask in Reception about booking restaurant Rustichel - we had a great experience visiting here

Fantastic Hotel Small Boutique Hotel with wonderful views over the lake. Quieter area with excellent connections with both the ferry stopping right outside and bus stop just steps away. Beautiful relaxing pool area with quiet shaded seating area. Resturant Good with outdoor dining. Our room was spacious with views of the pool and the lake. Plug sockets a little confusing as our adapter didn't fit. Just a small niggle. Would 100% return

We are staying here now. The hotel is lovely. Food delicious. Really don't understand how anyone can give negative reviews. Staff friendly. Our view from the room is spectacular. We have taken holidays all over the world and stayed in 5 star accommodation. This boutique hotel us very original. Brilliant.

I honestly don’t understand some of the reviews I’ve read on this hotel, to the point where I’ve had to make my first review on trip advisor! First is the food; personally I found that the two meat choices each night were cooked beautifully and could be paired with a salad and other side plates quite nicely. There isn’t a huge variety in the food I’ll admit but you can’t really expect a huge all inclusive style buffet from a boutique restaurant such as this. I’ve read people say there was no atmosphere in the dining room which I suspect is due to the lack of music, however the bistro next door plays music during dinner time and I personally would not want the hotel to be playing anything else. If your with people who can provide you with good conversation you will be more than happy. The owner also booked us a table at his sisters restaurant up in the hills which provides transportation, beautiful food and incredible views for a fair price! Pool and room wise there is nothing to complain about. Our balcony door had a problem with the lock but the night manager very easily explained how there was a knack to it and we got used to it very quickly. As a younger woman, I found there was plenty to do around the town with a couple of bars, a whole lake to explore and my favourite: two beautiful mountains to climb (Pizzocolo 1500m and Castello 800m). Running around the beautiful paper mills valley was the highlight of my trip and if you are able I greatly recommend climbing any of the local mountains as they provide you with some of the most beautiful views of the surrounding Dolomites from the peaks. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, yes there are little nibbles here and there which I would change but thought the hotel provided the perfect home base to explore lake Garda with the town having plenty to do, if you take the time to search for it! Maybe this hotel can be hit and miss (looking at the reviews) but for me it was a hit! If I ever decide to come back to the Western side of Lake Garda I would definitely look into returning!

This is definitely not 4 stars I’d give it 2 worn blanket on the bed very pricey for water or wine signs in the foyer saying no smoking but manager smoking cigars smelling smoke everywhere,lift broke down with my husband in it,luckily he got out but no apology quite rude,very upsetting for the older couples because they couldn’t walk up the steps till it was repaired,definitely not worth the money!
