A great country pub where the rooms were clean and tidy. The staff were really friendly and the food was amazing. A really pleasant stay

Great location for the south-west coast path. Room comfortable but the quality of the service, food and drink was outstanding. Breakfast menu and dinner in particular had a broad range of locally sourced foods that were cooked and prepared beyond our expectation. Wine and beer choices were equally as impressive. We've travelled quite a bit in North Devon and this is a gem of a place.

Went for a meal the place was quite just a few people in asked about a meal and told two tables were booked but asked to go to a table up the stairs and given two menus told someone would come and take our order after over half an hour still waiting so we walked out not good

We stopped overnight at this beautiful pub. Absolutely bowled over by how gorgeous our room was, very comfortable four poster bed, huge walk in shower and a jacuzzi bath! We had dinner there. Food was probably the best meal I’ve had in a pub for many years. We had the sea bream and belly pork followed by baked cheesecake. The portions were also incredibly generous. Breakfast in the morning was fabulous too. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We are already trying to work out when we can come back!!

Somewhat unusually I am leaving a review having not actually stayed here. Due to adverse weather I was stranded on Lundy Island and unable stay as planned. The person I spoke to generously refunded my booking which I really appreciate. I fully intend to make another booking in the future. It's rare these days to find a business that would put their customers first in this way and I'm sure it's indicative of the kind of hotel this is!

Lovely Hotel very comfortable and so very friendly the food was outstanding and the bar staff equally so. We stayed two nights and we’re so impressed we’ve book for November to continue exploring beautiful North Devon. Thank you to all the lovely staff for making the stay so enjoyable

Visited on a Tuesday afternoon after going to Bucks Mill beach (beautiful). Had a drink in the garden. Lovely building and friendly staff. Nice food menu and good range of drinks. Sat outside in garden - beautiful and so quiet. Understand there are B&B rooms too - imagine they are quaint

Wir haben dieses Hotel sehr kurzfristig gebucht. Unser Zimmer lag nach hinten raus und war zwar klein, hatte aber ein neues Badezimmer und war sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Alles war sehr sauber. Das Personal / Inhaber waren alle sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Abendessen war sehr lecker - ebenso wie das Frühstück am nächsten Tag. ..eine absolute Empfehlung!
