Where to begin? After following the emailed instructions to the letter we found the property without difficulty and were warmly greeted by Anne, our host. The property is delightful, tastefully decorated, modern and sparkling. After a welcome with coffee and cake we settled into our room then followed Anne's suggestion - chosen from several, with links & information sent to my phone - for a local eatery (Cary Arms Hotel) where we enjoyed wonderful service, food and atmosphere although the steep & narrow access laneway was, as we were warned, a challenge! Breakfast the next day was served with surgical precision in immaculate surroundings and didn't disappoint. Overall a delightful experience with an amazing host!

Lovely caring host, beautiful location, excellent breakfast and most important of all to me - quiet. I enjoyed our conversations about horticulture and orchids, my speciality, which the host shared. The views were out of this world, had I had time I would have spent it just looking out of the window. Much enjoyed.

From the first moment of our arrival with tea and cakes to our departure everything was wonderful. Anne is an amazing host and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. The house was spotless, the room was a generous size and everything was provided to make this a first class stay. Breakfast was superb and the setting was stunning. There was nothing we could fault and would highly recommend.

This is the perfect escape for body and mind reset. I feel nourished, revived, and restored. The house and gardens are stunning, offering expansive views of rolling fields, vast skies, and the sea. I stayed in the smallest room available, which was still spacious with ample storage, a very comfortable bed, and a great coffee machine. The breakfasts are fantastic; I highly recommend the porridge and fruit options alongside the delicious cooked breakfast, which includes fabulous vegetarian choices or succulent sausages if you prefer. Anne was incredibly attentive and a great joy to be around. She makes everything seem very streamlined, even though I'm sure it's quite complicated accommodating guests. Nothing is too much trouble (more eggs, please!). I immediately felt comfortable in the house. The lounge is for guest use only, so I didn't feel like I was encroaching on their privacy—perfect for reading the paper and looking out to sea. As a nice bonus, if you sleep with the window open, you’ll hear owls calling in the distance as you drift off, and be gently woken by sparrows chirping happily in the hedgerows. If you're lucky, you might even spot a very friendly cat who resides in the owners' private quarters. It's not often I want to return to the same property—I usually prefer variety—but this one is an exception. I’ll be back so my husband can have the same exceptional experience.

De gastvrouw doet erg haar best had ook goede ideeen voor bezienswaardigheden in de omgeving. Het huis is makkelijk te vinden. Voldoende parkeerruimte. De kamers zijn netjes, bedden goed. Grote luxe badkamer met een wat kleine douche als je overgewicht hebt. Erg rustige omgeving, je hoort geen verkeer. Mooi uitzicht op zee. Het ontbijt is goed, vers fruit, goede koffie, lekkere eitjes.

I do not want to give too much away as will be looking to book again when we need/want to visit Devon and would like to keep it a secret location. My wife and I had a wonderful 2 night stay with Halekulani being located in a beautiful setting and owned by caring people who did all they could to ensure a true 'home from home' experience while being cared for. The property was clearly the owners' pride and joy being very well laid out and spotlessly clean with great facilities that included a very comfortable bed and 'tailor-made' tasty and plentiful breakfasts, together with sound advice on local amenities and places to visit and eat. I wish our hosts well and hope they will have vacancies when we next need them......

What a find this place is!! Such a lovely vibe and Anne and the team so kind and helpful. Our room was perfect, fab bath and views out to sea, gorgeous garden to sit out in and just chill and relax…. and we did!! Within easy reach by short drive of Cafe Rio on Maidencombe Beach…again great views to be had! This was our 10th wedding anniversary and Anne made it very special for us!! Would recommend in a heartbeat!👍

Nice quiet place to stay. Ann is a lovely host and will want to make your stay the best. Breakfast for vegetarians is available. We enjoyed playing croquette. Rooms are nice. We had vegetarian sausages and toast and beans, hash browns with tea and lovely orange and apple juices.

Lovely setting very peaceful. Anne was very attentive and recommend places for us to visit. She dropped us at the local restaurant and picked us up. Room was clean, plenty of hangers and in room light breakfast . Lovely bathroom products and gorgeous bath tub.
