Hotel Rock Regency Hampi

The hotel is a large property but has turned old. Looks likely being run by a management with old school thoughts and no money. Rooms untidy and stinky, food no good, room service absent, lifts not working, no sufficient lightings in the hotel room, acs not working properly.

The stay was decent but we were charged early check -in charges. We had requested early check-in and had also called the hotel but had no reply from the hotel. When we reached there, we were asked to pay early check-in charges as compared to my colleagues who had booked the hotel by calling them. Not only were they charged minimal rates as compared to my booking, they had a free early check-in. On bringing to the notice of the hotel officials, they told me that since i had booked the hotel, they were forced to charge early check-in and that i should have called them. Now, this has left a very bad taste about booking my hotel rooms in anywhere in any city as no prerence is given/same treatment given as compared to people who booked it.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and unfortunately, it was a nightmare from start to finish. The reception staff was incredibly unhelpful and lacked basic courtesy. Wifi was poor here an c unfortunately my phone network was bad. When i requested a fix for the wifi, it took them 30 minutes just to send a technician, who left saying he would return shortly but never did. After 1. 5 hours, i had to call the receptionist again, only to be told that they were unaware of the issue and they will get back but again they had no courtesy to inform me anything. Eventually, i had ti call them again and i was informed that the wifi wasn’t working in my room due to rain and was advised to shift rooms if i needed internet access. If the wifi didn’t work because of rain, how would it magically work in another room? clearly, they were not being honest. Another disappointing experience was with room service. When i tried to repeat my order to ensure it was correct, the restaurant staff got irritated and as expected, my order arrived incorrect. The lack of willingness to listen to customers was evident and frustrating. The only positive aspect of my stay was the housekeeping staff, who did an excellent job keeping the room clean. This one star rating is for him. Unfortunately, this one positive doesn’t make up for the otherwise terrible experience. I will not be returning to this hotel and cannot recommend it to others.
