Lot Boutique Hotel by Hotels and Preference

Overall, a great hotel with spacious, clean rooms and an amazing breakfast. The reception and breakfast staff were especially friendly and welcoming. However, the location is a downside — no proper pedestrian access, so walking to the hotel felt unsafe with constant traffic. Also, the carpets and walls could use some refurbishment. Still, a very comfortable stay with excellent service.

l'albergo Lot Boutique Hotel non può sicuramente vantare le 5 stelle: avrebbe bisogno di una ristrutturazione e sicuramente di un servizio adeguato. La posizione è ottima, perchè si trova proprio nel centro di Tirana ma oltre questo non offre praticamente nulla di più. E' vero che abbiamo preso la stanza standard ma i mobili erano vecchi e scrostati, la camera era soffocante e la moquette vecchia. Non ci tornerei e non lo consiglierei se non per la posizione..

La posizione dell'hotel è ottima: a pochissimi passi dalla piazza principale di Tirana, ha moltissimi ristoranti nei dintorni. Quando prenoto un cinque stelle mi aspetto di soggiornare in una situazione decisamente migliore! Con questo hotel è cominciata male dall'inizio: su *********** dicono di offrire un servizio navetta da e per l'aeroporto. Me lo hanno confermato pure per email. In realtà prenotano un taxi da una compagnia e lo mandano a prelevare gli ospiti all'aeroporto. Peccato che per noi se ne siano dimenticati o qualcosa è andata storta nella procedura e abbiamo dovuto aspettare per più di un'ora all'aeroporto, telefonare diverse volte alla receptionist (che non ci è mai apparsa particolarmente sveglia), il taxi diceva di avere trovato traffico (in una città che è trafficatissima ad ogni ora del giorno e della notte, quindi nessuna imprevedibile novità)... tutto questo mentre c'erano migliaia di taxi di fronte a noi che ci avrebbero portati in hotel allo stesso identico prezzo del taxi "dell'hotel" (abbiamo aspettato soltanto perchè non sapevamo se ci avrebbero addebitato il taxi prenotato da loro in ogni caso). L'entrata dell'hotel è in una traversa piccolissima della strada principale, accanto all'accesso per un casinò. Fortunatamente il tassista conosceva il tragitto, perchè immagino sarebbe stato difficile per noi individuarlo con il navigatore. La reception è minuscola con la stessa receptionist per quattro giorni. Sembra un hotel a gestione familiare, più che un cinque stelle. Struttura molto datata, ascensore piccolo e lento, camera piccolissima, bagno molto antico, spazio per i vestiti minuscolo. Ma la cosa più deludente sono stati i servizi: colazione a buffet non particolarmente ricca, "posso prestarvi solo un ombrello per camera perchè servono per le altre camere" (in un giorno di pioggia fortissima), addirittura in camera solo una asciugamani per il corpo e una per il viso ciascuno (niente asciugamani per le mani, niente accappatoio...). Le lenzuola non vengono cambiate quotidianamente. Insomma, un buon tre stelle, neanche minimamente vicino ad un cinque stelle.

Before picking Lot Boutique Hotel, I spent a lot of time researching, reading reviews on several different hotel platforms. I probably dedicated 3 hours until I finally made my pick. I wanted to stay in a good and safe location in downtown Tirana where I could enjoy a comfortable, spacious room and eat a good breakfast every morning before heading out into the hustle and bustle of downtown Tirana to photograph the Albanian capital. I also wanted to know if the hotel’s staff were helpful and friendly. It was my first time in Albania, so I knew I was going to need some local advice. I depend on the social interactions I have where I’m traveling and knowing that the team working at the hotel I stay at are not only good at what they do – but also have a positive attitude is important to me. My room (#402) was terrific with a large, comfy Queen sized bed, big windows with lots of light, and a nice city view. My room also had plenty of space to store my clothes and a desk where I could work from. The restaurant staff, in particular, the female head chef was so sweet and kind. Like the team at the reception and all the front doormen, they were always nice and welcoming. During my stay, I also had a few fabulous massages from the hotel's very professional Balinese therapist. Special mention to the security fellow named “Monday”. He was particularly helpful and kind. This young man went out of his way (on several occasions) to guide me to local restaurants, where to get a great shave and the best exchange office in the neighborhood. There are plenty of 3 and 4 star hotels in Tirana. But I doubt if any of them come close to the quality and positive experience I had at Lot Boutique Hotel. Not to mention that the location has so many good restaurants, cafés and ATMs nearby. Again, Lot Boutique Hotel is Highly recommendable. The portrait photos are of the hotel’s staff, whom I now consider as friends! By the way… Tirana should be on everybody’s travel list. Even if you’re not a photographer. It’s a great city to explore with a ton of history, a fantastic dining/café culture and a lot of soulful locals. It’s not a “fancy" city by any definition and the attractions aren’t exactly spectacular. But they are nonetheless very, very interesting, including the museums, two huge Cold War bunkers and the exhilarating gondola ride up the mountain just outside of town. Like in any great city, you’ll of course find plenty of restaurants, bars, and cafés to choose from. I found Albanians to be really kind. Perhaps a little shy to begin with but then amazingly friendly and generous. The hotel’s staff was no exception. They were phenomenally friendly and helpful when I needed suggestions of things to do and directions on how to get there. I was genuinely impressed.

Excellent hôtel, très bien situé proche des principales attractions de Tirana. Le personnel est au petit soin, merci Regina, Rina, Sedna. Très confortable, service 5 étoiles. Un petit déjeuner exceptionnel avec des fruits, sucré, salé, des jus de fruits frais et un café, cappuccino extraordinaire.

The entrance is in a weird place (down a narrow street). But once inside very clean and well kept. The breakfast was okay, very samey day to day, but this isn’t a large hotel so the staff get used to you and start preparing tea / coffee etc.
