We booked this hotel due to the fantastic marketing email from Marriott, it looked like a gem. When we arrived at the property, we were met by staff who took our cases and car to be parked… Entering the room, the air conditioning simply wasn’t working to cool the room, we’d had a hot boat trip and wanted to shower, change and explore the facilities - but our cases didn’t arrive for another 2 hours, despite phone calls to reception. We waited for staff to fix the air con, but were then told it was down to us… it simply didn’t work, this was the third hotel we’d stayed in our our trip and the air con was by far the least effective. Location wise, it was down a dirt track which was more like a route for 4x4 adventures than to a top class hotel. The food was disappointing and the pool was not inviting. It really didn’t deliver on the Greek hospitality we’d experienced elsewhere. The receptionist, who was a professor is an asset to the Marriott team, and while some staff were friendly, it just was way below the standard we’ve experienced at other hotels in the chain. Our request to upgrade to a plunge pool room was met with a ridiculously high price quoted, when if our room had been of the standard expected, we’d not have asked to change. Despite raising complaints politely, none of the issues were rectified. I’d recommend saving your money and staying at a different hotel on Tinos, it’s a wonderful island, but this is not worth the stay.
