Jungle Lodge Tikal Hostal

Deze lodge ligt op steenworp afstand van Tikal National Park. Ons geschakelde huisje lag midden in de jungle, met eekhoorntjes, kolibries, apen, andere vogels, mieren en muggen. De brulapen kon je ‘s nachts goed horen. Het huisje was schoon, er stonden twee heerlijke bedden en een muskietennet. Geen WiFi in het huisje, wel bij het restaurant en het zwembad. Niet altijd warm water en elektriciteit. Je kreeg twee flessen water iedere ochtend. Het ontbijt omvatte drie keuzes en was ook lekker. Ook het avondeten was erg lekker. Het zwembad was verkoelend maar niet zo heel erg schoon.

Very nice accommodations nestled in the tropical forests and surrounded with the sounds of the Jungle. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The restaurant was excellent and the choices of various cuisines were nice. It has a relaxing pool and lounge with Bar. Access to the Temples of Tikal was an easy walk from the facilities.

My issue with this place is that I asked for a simple breakdown of my cost after I stayed with them (asked twice), and they just didn't respond. I believe they charged me extra for the shuttle when I only took it one way. Would stick with one of the other 2 lodges in Tikal.

We recommend this property if you want to disconnect and be in contact with nature. If you are planning to see the sunrise at Tikal -is a good choice to stay in this hostal because of its location. Food is average.

Jungle Lodge Location: - amazing and very convenient to get to the ruins. -Beautiful being amongst flora and fauna with clear view of the stars. The jungle gets loud at night so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper Facilities: - shower pressure varied but generally pretty good - the food was decent but obviously overpriced. Many choices for good and drink at the restaurant at Jungle Lodge and a few other choices at the other lodges. - the pool was in major need of a facelift. It was very unappealing and was actually quite disappointed because it looked so icky that I didn’t have a dip, despite the weather being very hot and humid. -rooms are comfortable, clean, and compact, and the bedding was soft and smelled clean. Service: - shuttles are provided at specific times for $15 USD/way or $20USD/roundtrip, which was very convenient and a good price if you’re flying into Flores. - employees at reception were friendly and helped when they could - employees in the restaurant were not as welcoming - it is possible to arrange tours from the hotel but the quality of the guides seems to vary greatly. I did the sunrise tour and was given very little information from the guide. Others in my group were told they would get information on the tour about the temples and the Mayans and did not, which was very frustrating for them. Even without much explanation from the guide, the sunrise tour was beautiful and I highly recommend you try (perhaps from another agency).

Excelente para desconectarse un poco y también si es que quieres ir a visitar el complejo arqueológico de Tikal. Tiene piscina, sala de cine, sala de juegos, dos buenos restaurantes. La cobertura de la red es complicada, pero hay Wifi. La atención de los trabajadores fue muy amable
