We were booked in the Lago hotel Tiberias for 3 nights. The room that was booked by the travel agent (a basic double room) was not suitable for us. We received no further assistance nor suggestions when I returned to the frontdesk to ask for other options. I returned to the tiny room and checked the internet. After 15 minutes I returned to the frontdesk and showed them *********** options, contradicting their claim that they had no better rooms. After some minor discusions we were finally upgraded to a DeLuxe double room at a fair additional charge. (Which was fine: I did not expect a free upgrade if this is what was paid for, and that room was good). The night before departure we were informed that the breakfast could only be served from 09:00 onwards, instead of their usual 08:00 because of a group they had. We wanted to leave early but in the discusion that followed the manager stated clearly that times are not fixed and that only SHE decides when clients can have there breakfast, full stop. Quite a poor attitude for a hotel manager when talking to two elderly customers who were there for 3 nights and wanted to leave early. We left the hotel the following morning at 07:15 and we noticed that the cook had already prepared the breakfast (an hour before the published 08:00 formal breakfast time), with not a single customers there. So up to today I still wonder why my wife and I could only have breakfast after 09:00 and still wonder why we were addressed so rudely by the manager the night before. I filed a complaint at the main office of Comfort Hotels by email, but I had no response to date. Another point of concern was the fire safety: Fire exits and fire-escapes should be without any obstacles. In the Lagos hotel the staircase/fire escape was used to store matresses and small furniture. Bad score!
