To access the hotel you turn on a gravel road across from a pleasant waterfall that is itself also a destination. They email instructions on how to manage check in, so it is worth reading them as it is not typical but also works as described. There is a main house which is where you have breakfast and a barn that has been converted into the rooms which is where you stay. The self check in and self check out process steps are straight forward. The outside of the barn where you stay looks initially troubling but inside it is really rather nice and better than expected. Someone with design sense put it together and it really is pleasant and spacious with thoughtful details such as lighting, the bench for luggage, and even the novel folding shower. The room is clean and well maintained. There is a no shoe policy to keep the hallway and room clean with shoe racks at the entrance to each building. The breakfast was similar to other hotel breakfasts but a little bit cozy when all guests try to eat at the same time, which happened in our case meaning some who arrived slightly late had to come back half an hour later. Don’t expect substantive human contact with the owner or staff, we never interacted with a person during our stay other than looking in the kitchen in the morning and waving as they were preparing food. It isn’t an issue as everything worked and was described with signs and notes. The view was nice. If you want dinner there is a restaurant right by the waterfall 5 min away or a town a bit further down the main road. We would go here again.
