Super Homestay, propre, agréable. Personnel très accueillant, serviable et déjeuner trop bon, plaisir de retrouver de la confiture et du pain 😊 Singe et macaque le matin devant la fenêtre, au top ! Balade dans la réserve Tiger juste à côté sympa.

Oh my word. Stay here. You will never want to leave. I stayed for 2 and a half weeks and still did not want to move on. Take a garden view room (we named ours The David Attenborough Suite) and watch the black monkeys, the macaques (beware) the giant squirrels ad well as the very many tropical birds. Our rooms were clean and comfortable with plenty of hot water. Suresh, the owner and Sonia, his colleague helped us with booking trips, arranging transport and suggestions for activities. Suresh is a fabulous and committed host. We felt like family. Green View is in one of the best locations in Kumily. The road is quiet and the garden large. The property adjoins the spice gardens ('the most expensive hotel in Kerala'). The tiger reserve bus stops and the reserve itself are within easy walking distance (we saw a tiger). The town is closer and there are two very good local restuarants footsteps away. Breakfast at Green View is taken in the garden at a time to suit you. You will be offered the same breakfast as is eaten by the family, unless you want something more Western. I can recommend it all. I will return and I will stay for longer next time - I hope to see you there.

We were only in Kumily / Thekkady for 24 hours and after our experience at Green View we wished we could have stayed longer. We booked 3 rooms on the top floor which were spotless and comfortable. The balconies overlooked a lush garden and trees - a lovely place to sit and relax. Outside the rooms was a communal seating area with hammocks which were well used by us! Suresh is a fantastic host - the best we’ve experienced so far during our 4 week trip in India. He made lots of recommendations to help us make the most of our limited time and in 24 hrs we packed in a 3 hour jungle trek, a cookery class and Ayurvedic massages! We also visited an organic spice merchant to buy spices to take home. Highly recommended place to stay and great value for money.

Great welcome. 🤗 Excellent information for food, banks ATM's. Good internet connection. A pleasant fresh room, confortable bed and shower. The most amazing 😍 surprise was the balcony with a view on a luxuriant garden. We finally even had dinner prepared by Suresh, a wonderful indian meal with delicious spices. Suresh is a treasure, he can find in no time an answer to all our questions thanks to his fabulous network of real friends. Suresh is a hard worker, reliable and his tremendous experience changes your travel into an unforgettable trip. And what a smile ! 😊

Nice setting and in town but lots of steps and hilly so if you can't get up them go somewhere else. No safes in rooms. No beer in very average restaurant. Staff very helpful. Rooms very clean. WiFi fine. Breakfast is an OK buffet. Interesting figus aucampii by the pool the fruits of which are nice. Wouldn't go back.

As everyone has said previously this is a fabulous place to stay. It’s on a quiet road, great sized room and a sunny evening balcony to rest on after a long day trekking. Sanesh looked after us whilst suresh was away and couldn’t do enough for us. A warm welcome greeted us as did a hot cup of tea. Great hearty breakfast to set us up for the day. It’s a must stay place in Kumily. Thankyou so much for great memories. You know it’s a great place when you don’t want to leave.

Suresh is the star of this show, he couldn't do enough to look after us going above and beyond all our expectations. We've recommended this place to our friends and would return ourselves. Breakfast was great, location good. Rooms are spacious though could do with a little update but we weren't in it long and the bed was comfortable.

We had a great stay here, which started with a warm welcome with tea from Suresh. Our large room was really clean, had a balcony looking out over the neat garden and a great shower. Green View is in a quiet street but it’s an easy walk to the centre of the town and for buses into Periyar Tiger Reserve.

Me and my friend had a lovely stay at Green View Homestay for three nights. The rooms are simple, but super clean and spacious with own balcony, large firm bed and a good shover with hot water (which is not always the case in India). There’s also a common patio with hammocks upstairs to chillax. Just be aware of the monkeys and keep your door locked all times as they are really curious. One even got into my friends room and searched his bag while he was in the room! All staff were extremely kind, caring and helpful. Upon arrival we were greeted with a big wellcoming smile, hot cup of coffee and information about the tours and activities. The owner showed us our rooms upstairs and helped with the heavy luggage, which was a nice gesture. The location is perfect. It’s quiet but only a short walk to shops, restaurants and the car park where you take the bus to the National Park. As the tours can sell out quickly, he kindly showed us the place where to buy the official tickets down the road the same night we arrived. The National Park is run by the government so the prices for hikes etc. are fixed. There’s also a small local Auerveda massage place near by which was really good what comes to the price and service. I also tried one famous Auerveda Hospital in the area and in my opinion the experience was very similar in both. Just the latter being more expensive. On our last day he arranged us a driver to our next destination (safe drive at fair price) and kindly took us to ATM by his own car. I also had a lovely local breakfast one morning and was invited to join the ladies while they were making puttu in the kitchen. Overall we had really enjoyed our time both in Green View and amazing nature of Thekkady.
