"We booked for a week at the end Sept/ beg October and had a perfect stay. With around 20 rooms, the friendly and informative staff made sure that we were looked after from the moment we arrived. With our plane arriving late we did not get to the hotel till after 9 but the hotel ensured we could still get a meal. The hotel is beautifully furnished, features a large open atrium and the meals are served around the swimming pool in a beautiful courtyard area. The rooms are spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. a. The hotel is located just a short walk from the rock pools and the sea front and also close to the main town square and the various shops, restaurants and cafes Garachico has to offer. The hotel is peaceful, features a small library room and drinks and refreshments can be provided in the public areas. And room service is available too. You can even enjoy a drink on the rooftop terrace with views of the town and mountains. What makes the hotel special is the service. We were always greeted with a smile by the reception team, given information on how and where to get tourist bus passes and places/beaches to visit in the area and all the staff ensured we were well looked after. My wife has specific dietary requirements – gluten free and vegan – and we contacted the hotel in advance to confirm they could cater for this, Every evening she was provided with surprise starters and main courses, the the staff always taking care to check her food preferences. All the food was delightful – nouvelle cuisine style - and plenty of choice for breakfast too. Our special thanks to the chefs and serving staff who went out of their way to meet her dietary needs. The hotel San Roque provides a totally different experience to the huge and impersonal tourist hotels in the south of the island and you are never far away from the dramatic mountainous backdrop and the rocky northern coastline. We will return and would heartily recommend this hotel to anyone looking for pleasant surroundings, helpful and friendly service and excellent staff in a small hotel in a beautiful town with lots of history and interesting buildings and, of course, the wonderful rock pools."

"Alku ei ollut paras mahdollinen, kun saavuimme arkipäivän tunteina ja soitimme ovessa olevaan numeroon……. Ei vastausta. Nukuimme vuokra-autossamme ulkona klo 4–7. Jätimme useita vastaajaan tulevia viestejä……….kun hotelli soitti meille klo 7 päästääkseen meidät sisään! He pyysivät valittamaan jollekin toiselle, koska eivät tienneet meidän saapuvan! Annan silti arvosanaksi 5/5, koska en usko, että hotelli todella tiesi meidän saapuvan. Kun puhuimme naisen kanssa, hän oli kohtelias ja ystävällinen ja pääsimme sisään. Asunnosta pidimme todella paljon, se oli tilava, siisti ja mutkaton. Parannuksia minulle olisi (huone 9) toinen sohva……… kahden hengen sohva ei ole tarpeeksi suuri asunnon kokoon nähden, pääalueella on tarpeeksi tilaa ainakin toiselle kahden hengen hengelle. Isommat lasit! Tuuletin! Uuni, kyllä, uunia ei ole! Televisiossa näkyy vain paikallisia Kanariansaarten televisiokanavia, ei mitään muuta. Mutta sanonpa, että siivoushenkilökunta (ei vastaanottoa) oli ihanaa, ja kun ymmärtää, että paikka on "hieman erilainen", kaikki on ok. Nautimme oleskelustamme."

"Lovely hotel - on the plaza - in a beautiful town. Swimmers - an internet search will tell you about the volcanic pools, but the *real* place for a morning swim is off the Muelle dock (left side, as looking out to sea) with all the locals - many retired. The ladder in and out is great with handrails and a rope as well. Other than a plastic mattress which they graciously changed, wouldn't change a thing about this hotel. Note, you may wish to drive from airport avoiding the death-defying switch backs on the most direct route. Will return."

"The hotel was charming and comfortable, however, there were queues for breakfast as the number of tables available does not match the number of rooms. Kettle provided with cups etc but when we asked for tea & coffee we were told to buy our own at the supermarket. Why provide the means to make hot drinks but not the ingredients ? The daily bedside chocolate treat somehow was poor compensation. Otherwise an enjoyable stay."

"This hotel is every bit as wonderful as it looks. An old beautiful building with all the modern convenience you need. All the staff were super nice and did their very best to make your stay comfortable. Going there in early February, I was a bit worried about having breakfast outside, but with the heaters it was no problem. We had dinner at the hotel all three evenings we stayed there, as we just couldn't see the point in roaming the streets for another restaurant. Food was excellent, as was the wine list. We had a duplex room on the first floor. It was very quiet, and nice to have a bit of separation between the sitting area and the sleeping area. The hotel is very clean and the hotel provides very good value for money. Garachico is also a beautiful town to stay in, and a good base for hiking. We will stay there again next time in Tenerife. We wish to thank the staff for a lovely stay!"

"A wonderful place to stay located in the heart of the old town looking out onto the square. The moment you walk into the hotel you know you’ve made the right choice the staff are friendly helpful and nearly all multilingual. You then walk through the interior courtyard which is quite stunning with its plants trees and water fountain, a place of peace and beauty. The room was comfortable with all the facilities I would expect. What’s more the hotel has the best restaurant in town. When we realised we had left some of our belongings behind the staff again were very helpful arranging to post the stuff back to us in the UK. Definitely recommend without question"

"Oma oleskelu Isla Baja Suitesissa Garachicossa marraskuussa 2025 oli kaikki, mitä toivoimme ja enemmän. Garachico on täysin mahtava kaupunki, rikas historiassa ja viehätys, ja hotellin sijainti luonnon vulkanoivan uima-altaiden vieressä tekee siitä todella erityinen. On tunne rauhallisuutta ja aitoutta täällä, joka on yhä harvinainen. Sviitit ovat tyylikkäät, tilava, ja ajattelevasti parannettu 3 mukava ilman tunteita ylitetty. Aamiainen oli tuore, valoisa ja kauniisti valmistettu, asettaa sävy hitaille, rentoille aamulle. Mikä teki kokemuksen todella muistottavaa oli Laura Bier, isäntä. Hän on lämmin, huomaavainen, ja syvästi ihmisen meidän keskustelut hänen kanssaan olivat sydäntä ja merkitystä, joten meistä tuntui vähemmän vieraita ja enemmän kuin palaavat ystävät. Olemme olleet kolme yötä, ja se tuntui todellinen uudelleen asennus Lontoon elämästä. Isla Baja Suites ei ole vain paikka jäädä paikka hengittää. Odotamme jo palaamaan."

"This hotel has a huge place in my heart. It’s a simple but beautiful Canarian building, with lovely wooden features and beautiful tiled floors. It’s very simple - we stayed in room 10 with a sea view. Very basic but extremely clean and tidy. The best thing was the shared terrace overlooking the lagoons and the sea. I don’t remember staying anywhere better for watching the ocean. Miguel and his team were very kind. Not luxury but simple beauty. Thank you. With luck on my health we may be back."
