We were very happy with our stay at Kings cliff hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful during our check-in and when we used the bar in the evening and the restaurant for breakfast. It's fantastically situated on the sea front and was about half an hour walk along the coast from Clacton centre. The hotel itself was very clean and tidy and generally in good condition. Overall a positive experience and a recommendation from me.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful inside and out , parking for our stay included. Great ground floor room with wet room , lots of room , comfy beds , restaurant and bar , so quiet too . Lovely will stay again this year

When my husband booked he mentioned it was our 47th anniversary, thought maybe a card, or bottle in our room or even a upgrade but absolutely nothing. The veiw from our room was horrible as you can see from photo, I did enquire about sea facing but it was an extra £25@ night. Room could do with a bit of a update not like photos on website. No safe in room also be aware no lifts. Positive Staff were friendly and helpful. Food in the evening was absolutely delicious and downstairs was modern compared to the room. Carparking was free to guest's, just had to sign registration number in.

Lovely hotel in a great location! Very clean with comfy beds. Staff were super friendly and helpful and check in was really quick. Parking is free you just need to enter your number plate in the screen at the entrance. The beach is opposite with everything on its door step. Definitely recommend.

The staff were friendly enough, but unfortunately we paid £121 for a room that needed a good clean. In fact it seemed all areas of the hotel needed more attention as a spider hanging from a nearby coat hook joined us for breakfast. The morning shift should have seen hoovers and dusters out. Truly disappointed as we would have returned many times if this had been better. Actually enjoyed the breakfast but won’t be back :-(

We have the same room each year. Previously it was a messy layout, this year a real effort had been made and it was very comfortable except for the ventilation. Both windows can only be opened fifty millimetres and there is no air-conditioning. The provided fan stirs the air somewhat but it was still uncomfortable during the hot weather, Breakfast requires the staff to take action to keep food and liquids topped up Balanced provision is necessary, e.g. not all marmalades one day and all jams the next. The constant requests for dishes etc. should not be necessary.

The staff were very friendly and presented the impression that the are happy to be there, enjoy their work and happy providing a friendly service. The bedroom was comfortable and the hotel has has a recent refurbishment. The breakfasts were as good as we have had. Hot, swiftly served and well cooked. Personally I would prefer my black pudding less cooked, however, it was just how my wife liked it.

Went here with friends for dinner last night. From the minute we arrived we were welcomed by the staff and shown to our table. The staff were very attentive for the whole of our visit and the food was lovely. It was refreshing to see the hotel manager on the resteraunt talking to guests and making them feel welcome. Thank you to all the team at the Kingscliff for making our night perfect.

Firstly as I've said before in my reviews so frustrating that trip advisor don't do half stars so this review although showing 4 I rate 3 1/2 The kingscliff is owned by the same group as our favourite restaurant/ hotel/ bar /tea rooms the George in Colchester surya hotels So was interesting to compare and see if it could live up to the wonderful George firstly the staff were the same professional friendly service The hotel was lovely without the quirkiness of the George Menu was virtually the same ( this group always changes the menus to match the seasons) Food on the whole was lovely and very well presented and we all had great evening but unfortunately my mains of moules frittes was a disappointment ( plenty of mussels but they were tiny infact smallest mussels I have ever seen) And the dessert warm sticky toffee pudding which is amazing at the George alas was not warm at all! So although a nice place and would probably go again unfortunately kingscliff could not match her sister hotel the George
