Located at the gorgeous lakefront, the old and elegant villa- Tekapo 1929 has been situated there as time moved on. It was first built from1928 to 1929. During the last nine decades, the house has witnessed the town’s changes through ages. Anyone familiar with the local history will tell you that Tekapo 1929 is the oldest residence in the area. Our intention has always been to preserve its original style, including the decor, fixtures, and furniture, so that every guest can not only enjoy the views of Tekapo but also experience a glimpse of its past. Tekapo 1929 offers a prime lakefront location to enjoy the panoramic view of shimmering turquoise Lake and majestic mountains. You can simply sit and watch the dreamlike sky in the morning, rosy sunset at dusk, dazzling starlight at night, or feeling the rotations of seasons, colorful Lupin in summer and snowy ridge in winter. Apart from the million-dollars view, Tekapo 1929 also provides you with great convenience. Short walk distance to the Church of Good Shepherd and the heart of village where you can find different shops, restaurants and an array of outdoor activities. Please note: As a historic villa, we have divided it into three sections（Braemar, Starry Unit and Pennscroft） to allow more people to experience and enjoy everything it has to offer.

Our Cottage offers a separate warm and cozy house which contains one bedroom, one bathroom and a separate living room. Maximum to accommodate 3 people. The cottage is situated on a large lakeside property of over 4,000 square meters. Step outside, and you are greeted by the stunning lake view right in front of you. Just beyond the yard, you'll find the legendary Lake Tekapo and the Church of the Good Shepherd. You can fully enjoy a comfortable and private living experience! Inside the house, you'll find some small items used by the first owner, still placed as they were. Time has changed the people, but the house remains, allowing you to appreciate the beauty of both life and nature.
