Tea Gardens Motel

The woman at the door was very friendly and welcoming, which was great. The young guy behind the counter found it difficult to make eye contact. Although there was hardly anybody else in the restaurant, he decided to start serving the people Behind me before he had even finished with me. He didn’t offer me a receipt and I was there on business. The chef brought the meal to the table again without making eye contact. The lamb was slimy because it had been marinated In whatever cheap restaurants do to make things slimy. Except that it wasn’t a cheap restaurant it was over $30 for the dish. They hadn’t bothered peeling the ginger. I would not eat at this place again.

We stayed at the Tea Gardens Motel a couple weeks ago and it was the best holiday we've had in awhile. We Stayed in room 52 down near the pool and it was cosy and relaxing and felt like a load off our shoulders. We were first greeted by Andrew and Amanda in reception to help with our check in experience. There was no milk in my room so i went to reception and they were super friendly and apologised for the inconvenience. The staff there are super hard working with the long hours they do in reception to all the gardening and maintenance we seen them doing. The place has been well upkept since the last time we stayed. The hedges were trimmed, The gardens weren't over grown like they were our previous stay to this one. A really big thank you for the team here at Tea Gardens Motel. My partner and i will definitely be back again. The only thing i can downfall on this place is the rooms are a little outdated and the mosquitoes. Other then that, I recommend this place for anyone who is looking for an escape from reality. Thanks again, Silvia

At this place of stay, you wont find any nice staff who would assist you with whatever you needed. I recommend this place to anyone who wants a reality escape away. The rooms are spacious and have an amazing spa bath in them. The couple that are the new managers and their son make you feel welcomed and that you've won a million bucks. Will definetly be returning.

Excellent service good atmosphere for a club. The food was beyond our expectations probably the most enjoyable food for a while. The schezuan spicy dish amazing the Singaporean stir fry hard to beat others had the sang choy bow honey chicken garlic chicken laksa all said best ever plus alcohol at club prices the icing on the cake. Strongly recommended. Oh and we caught the courteously bus from Hawks Nest caravan park great service.

The garden eatery at the hotel has lovely food… But the organisation is terrible… We booked a table which they did not do.. Join a queue… Do you have a booking…yes… Taken out of queue and seated… How do we order…??? Join the queue…. Really….!!!! We have been here a couple of times before and never had this issue…. Will we be back… NO….

We had lunch there and my husband said it was the best honey chicken and fried rice he had ever eaten. I was on a special diet and nothing seemed right for me so the chef came out and he suggested steamed vegetables cooked in chicken stock and they were fresh and plentiful. Next time we come back we will be sure to have lunch there again.

1. Noise level high due to thin walls and connecting doors. Corridors noisy and lots of uncoiled hinges 2. Bathroom dirty. Resident nasty spider was a permanent 3. Supplied microwave and toaster. No plates or cutlery 4. Long walk to room to carry luggage due to car park works 5. No internet info 6. Needs huge upgrade

Stayed for one night in a family room. We were last here 33 years ago for our wedding night and I don’t believe any money has been spent here since then. The bathroom was mouldy and very shabby the toilet seat did not fit the toilet. I would not have gotten in the spa for love nor money. The bedroom itself wasn’t that bad but someone had had a go at painting and managed to get a good lot on the carpet. The doors to the rooms were all chipped and needed a coat of paint. The room was a good size but the bathrooms need to be redone

Tea Gardens is an hour away of Newcastle airport, heading towards Lake Macquarie turn off on Pacific highway. The restaurant at Country Club is mostly Chinese menu but can get a few pub favourites. The meal was delivered hot and was delicious, would recommend this restaurant.
